i do actually like ironing

i peg my washing out and if the weather looks dodgy i almost stand and stare at it to make it dry

if it looks like rain my washing is in before the 1st drop hits the ground

i put on music loudy and iron away

its creates nice smells

and orderly piles of clean clothes

and i can  drfit off inside my head

whats not to like?

Hello, laughing at Merlin's horror of washing in the rain! :^O I hate it too, always imagine the rain is full of dirt but my bed stuff was caught one mixed day a month or so again but smelt so lovely when I brought it in I had to put it straight on the bed! I did iron it first cos I'm a bit Merlinish. 😐

OH is worse & the more I ask/suggest the more angry he gets. No sign of my wedding ring. 😞 I was a silly & mean cow to throw it at him though. 😞

Tried to start up a happy conversation last night about what greenhouse to get. He got all snappy & said I already have a greenhouse. I haven't, I've got a shed. Apparently they're the same thing. ?:|

bbbbbbut in my defense

when i iron, i sing and brain switches off

so its relaxing

inside my head is kinda busy most of the time, so its a kinda down time for me

when i lie in bed at night, i have hardcore trance music on (its VERY upbeat, and badly named) its the only thing that overrides my thoughts!

and i noticed my windows this morning are covered in what looks like red sand after the heavy rain yesterday

if my washing was in that? it would be dirty too

I bought one of those irons with a tank a couple of weeks ago. Explained to the boys that it takes a while to reach pressure etc & that they would be better sticking to the old one. 16 year old then declared that the tank one is for 'extreme ironing' 😐 I gather 'extreme' is good.

i have a genuine sewing question

imagine a book

7" x 7" x 1" thick

hardcover

kirsty has asked me if i can make a pouch type cover for it so she can slip it in, she doesnt want it damaged in her bag

what measurements would i start off with

i was hoping to make a sort of envelope type, not one with seperate sides but would need to take the thickness & cover  into account

i assume you have searched everywhere around?

could it have rolled somewhere you maybe havent looked?

may sound stupid but have you tried standing where you were and throwing something else roughly the same size to see where it goes?

course you may just end up littering in your own home if you keep chucking stuff around and loosing it!

got to be worth a try:-(

we've all done stuff we regret in the heat of the moment, but its got to be somewhere

just dont empty the hoover until you check the bag!
