That's looking good Jac.:-) You need to quilt it before putting the binding on though as it will move a bit when quilting it & might pucker. Tack it well together all over first.
A tip for next time. Leave the batting & backing a little bit bigger than your top piece while you quilt it. Then trim to the size of the top & bind. I think that's very good for your first try though! :-D

what i did was cut the batting same size as the quilt bit, and back piece too, i think i went wrong there!, ive used ribbon as border and now i worried i cant sew it as i might muck it up, the squares arent exact matching inline but its my first piece i will get better!!

I tthink your squares look pretty well lined up Jac ;-D
As Maggie said, just need to do things in the right order.
When I did mine I hand quilted all the squares then trimmed to size. Then I realised that I had cut my quilting threads as I had sewn right to the edge. Had to redo some, but I'll know the next time ;)

I have been using up scraps and made a little felt mouse. But I can't get his head on right :-(

I'm beginning to think this fleecy quilty thing is jinksed.....set off sewing and the rubber drive loop thingy on the machine fell from togetherness..:-(
so just popped off to shop to buy replacement...simples
ohhhhhhhhh noooooooooooo 'sorry madam,how old is the machine' (snigger snigger)
'oohhhhh my great gran had one of those'
'we used to have those but there is no demand for them now'

Anyhoo,7 hrs later and God knows how many miles travelled I now am the proud owner of 3,yes count them,3 rubber wheel drive whatsits.Probably the last 3 in the world.One of them still had the price on.....4d

Vet has given Tink a steroid injection an put her on meds as the 'thing' on her neck keeps bleeding, she thinks it might well we cancerous but I've gotta take her back on tuesday to see if there has been any change, if there hasn't then they will be booking her in for an op:-(
Cancer is VERY common in Staffords tho:-(

I got a letter from the School Admissions Team saying that they haven't got a place at the local school for Master B so he's gotta stay at the old school:-(

apparantly not Merl, they said the reason is that there is no room in Year 4 atm, I'm gonna ring em on monday an see what they say, I really don't want him to stay at his present school:-(
