Our old one was years old, teak (chipboard) with a shelf for the video recorder and a drawer at the bottom. Waste not want not, it now lives in the study and I stand my sewing machine on it when I'm not using it.:-D
We had four TVs in the old house. Three of those were the big old ones, my kitchen one was a flat screen modern one, but only about 20" screen. I still use it here in the kitchen, but we couldn't bring those old ones in here as they just wouldn't suit, ship, ha'porth of tar type situation. We bought two new ones for here.:-)

The little one in here is silver but the other two are black. (I had to go and look):-D I must admit, I like them much better than those great big things that stick out about three feet from the wall!:-(
