Oh dear. A tea disaster!

It's a gas fire that looks like a coal fire Gems. I don't use it much as the CH is so good & it's a bit extravagant on gas! That is my lounge & the one with the mirror is the breakfast room.

I will show you my two little trees too.:-)

Were the children drinking the tea? Or was it chickengrandmas tea?

No-one got to drink the tea, it was mine.:_| I'd put it near the middle of the table, as I always do when there are youngsters about, but then the box of felt was put in front of it and one of the girls pushed the box back, ever so slightly, but.......:O

Pretty trees Maggie.  I can never take a good picture of the tree.  If I have the room lights on, the lights on the tree don't show at all and if I have the room in darkness, you only get a few pin-pricks of light in a black picture!

Your doll's house is the same colours as mine.:-D

Yes, they usually only get them once, but some people get them more often.  I only ever had them once.  I think with mumps, if only the gland on one side is affected, the other one can get it at a later date.  I never had mumps, or measles, or whooping cough.  I think they have jabs for all of those these days but not when I was young. People tend to think a child with chickenpox will give an adult shingles but it's the other way round.  Look at me, a walking medical dictionary!:^O

some kids get  chicken pox everytime they are in contact, but its usually only a few spots at a time

one of my sons friends was like that
my daughter was 8 month when she caught them - poor little mite had them everywhere 😐
even in her mouth
she has a few scars from them

Morning

Towery - no snow here - think it might be raining! Not looked out yet - haven't been up long.

Stuff to do in town today - need candles/flowers/veg. Need to wrap some more pressies too - some the boys can help with and some I'll leave till they are out tonight 😉

BTW till you lot mentioned it, I'd never heard of snowman soup - now the youngest is addicted to it!!

Morning ladies.:-D

Grey today but not too cold, 1.7.  The snow is melting and only rain, sleet or light snow showers forecast for today.  That's ok as long as the Tesco man comes.  He'll need a van just for me I expect as my order is £350!:O  No, I'm not one who doesn't realise the shops are  closed for only one or two days. I'm one who doesn't savour the prospect of battling my way through harassed parents and screaming kids!  I won't be venturing there for at least two or three weeks. Plus, when I asked my daughter if there was anything she wanted me to add for her, I didn't realise she would want £200 worth!:O  It took me nearly all evening!  She's got a delivery booked for Tuesday too but she's doing the Christmas dinner this year for nine and then it's her daughter's birthday on 1st January and she has 25 little dears to cater for!

Morning ladies.:-) Very white with frost out there! Two days without has spoiled us. I wish it would warm up a bit.

That snowman soup looks very sugar laden & yummy!

I bought some knitting yarn on here last night as I am going to knit a patchwork jacket.:-D

Morning everyone. Getting a bit warmer here. Still very snowy but its thawing slowly. Roads are now clear though so at least our christmas plans can go ahead!

I know it isn't a sewing thing, but had to show someone. Made this last night - my first official, paid for, and not for family, cake! Strange request, vanilla sponge with black fondant and silver stars. Other than that I had free rein, so I kept it fairly simple

Thanks Maggie. Not my choice either tbh, but I'm getting paid for it, so the customer chooses. Apparently her Christmas table is black and silver, so she requested that to match! The silver is very hard to work with as its a powder, and though it doesn't show on the pic, there is a bit of transfer onto the black fondant. Will make them a couple of days in advance if I do anything similar again
