Waspy, that sounds horrendous, hope you are soon fully recovered!

Merlin, the cat looks so at home with her bum on your napkins!!lol

Mrs R it is exactly as Towery says they swab warm moist places that bacteria like to grow.
A lot more people than you think will be carrying MRSA, but unless you have a compromised immune system, it shouldn't be a problem.

Battening down the hatches as it is supposed to turn Arctic again up here overnight!

Keep warm everyone!

Glad to hear you're on the mend waspy.  I was in hospital 3 or 4 years ago with that and it's not nice!  It'll take you a good 3 or 4 weeks to feel back to normal too.  I found that just getting up and dressed in the morning was enough to make you need to rest for an hour. I'm keeping an eye on this cold I've got, I was coughing up gunk all night (sorry) and although it's not going as quickly as I would like, or expect, I don't think they need to get my hospital bed ready just yet.  Look after yourself.:-x

I've been decorating cakes all afternoon.  I didn't feel like it at all and I didn't have the tools (I'd make a good workman;-)) and the beds haven't got the clean sheets on yet, but these are my efforts.  The middle one is for the school fete on Friday. I could have just donated a fiver and everyone would have been happy!

THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

I had a form of MRSA last year when I had my chest abcess (it was caused by the MRSA & not aquired in the hospital) & had to use a nasal spray as the MRSA bug is known to live in the nose. Also had to bath in hibiscrub (the wash stuff that surgeons use) for weeks afterwards.

Have had a weird journey home tonight. The 2 policeman stabbed in Ealing was right outside my office & the roads have been closed (even to pedestrians on that side) & there are police & police vehichles everywhere. It is so quiet that it feels really spooky. the stabbings were at 3.00 & I left the building next door where I'd been in a meeting at 3.10 & had to show my work ID to get back into my office as the Town Hall is within the cordoned off area.
