Sorry Merlin, but whenever my sewing machine sews like that I have to call the engineer out. He's brillinat though and always fixes it.

The yoyo fall is one of the bobbin cases, if the thread is normal then it shouldnt need adjusting but a fatter or thinner thread it will need a tiny turn on the screw.
But it does look like the top thread. Is your needle in right up to the limit?
Try a sample on cotton fabric Merlin, it looks like a wool blend and you need a thread to suit that. Is the material a double thickness? will go and think some more.

keep him in tea for the minute stroppy
i think its fixed
loosed off the bottom tension
and changed the top tension (i dont know if the higher the number is tightening or not)
but i moved it up
and it seems to be working now
Thank you Maggie
i was getting frustrated

The higher the number the tighter the top tension. Glad you fixed it.

All this talk of sewing machines, bobbins and tension has got me confused and it doesn't take much at the best of times.
16-12-2013 7:10 PM
So glad you have fixed it, I usually swear at it and give it to my mother and she fixes it, whilst tut tutting and mentioning how I could have turned out like I have when all my family can sew. Mmmm whatever.

Yes Merlin watched the sewing prog, hope its on every week again but think it was a one off. I had to do some hand stitching on that bag as it wouldnt go under my machine in the fat parts
