Bloomin 'eck, nearly back to square one with mum.
Yesterday docs say she can come home this evening, lunch time my daughter phones (she works at the hospital) & said mum had had a relapse & can hardly breathe. They took her for a chest xray, & because she was fighting for breath they couldn't get a good picture, but have decided that a) she may have a chest infection (deemed unlikely), b) fluid on the lungs or c) fluid around the lungs.
They've now upped the water tablets that they've been weaning her off of, so treatment seems to have restarted

Yes , I understand that. I also as stated think they look nice but if you are raising money for charity there is no point in doing all that work and selling something for a fiver which would sell for £10 if sold as is !!
I have lost count of the wonderful pieces of glassware I have seen which have been "improved" by folks with glass paints And now pretty valueless .
On Antiques Roadshow there are numerous cases of valuable items of silver devalued by the Victorians penchant for "make -overs"
ive seen plenty of plain old collectables that sit around not being bought, whether for charity or on not they go round and round on free listing days a are still not bought fo 99p
however when someone makes them a little different they are bought as little gifts that may fit in someone house better than a plainer less decorative object
and Maggie may not just sell them for the charities she supports she may be giving them as gifts or selling other places

Gina hope your mum improves again soon and they get to the root of the problem soon
has Mags popped in to say her mum got on?
Huggles i think your body has gone into starvation mode, its not leting go of any weight as it thinks its not getting enough fuel
have a good look at the types of food and the times you eat them
maybe think about looking into the fasting diets that are around
gentle hugs for Carol, have you been listening to the Paul temple story on radio4 extra?
cant think if ive missed anything apart from saying HI to merlin. we missed you and love having you around

Diets !
I've heard of those ........ always avoided them myself , I like being "cuddly" 🙂
Sorry to hear about your Mum being so ill again Gina, I hope that they manage to get her sorted out & on the road to recovery really soon.

I wasn`t referring to anything listed on eBay and appreciate Maggies efforts and also anyone elses in raising money for any charity. I too have been involved with fund raising since I first sold "Sunny Smiles" from the age of five. I know what effort it takes. I was just making the point that some items have a value as they stand and can be sold for a higher price.
If I thought for one moment you were interested I could give you a list of the many charities I have fund raised for and supported over the last 60 years.
I was not critisizing anyone.on here, just that I have seen people at craft fairs with stuff they cannot shift because they have reduced the value of a potential £40 item down to £5 by covering it in glass paint.

I would just add, I send my best wishes to all those not feeling well and under stress from illness or worry.
If you are struggling with dieting ... I have just gone back on my half diet. I have half my breakfast and save half for later which I can eat at any time. The same for lunch and dinner. because there is always something waiting to be eaten it switches off cravings..
I "go" off eating sensibly because I am under an incredible amount of stress and frustration and comfort eat..

I am eating healthy stuff! Lots of veg and protein but no weight loss. Friend keeps telling me about a diet where you eat what you want one day then only 500 calories the next but I would be the bitch from hell (careful!) on the 500 days! Jeans feel a bit baggier but no weight loss. Maybe I was severally dehydrated from wine before and I'm just reabsorbing water? I don't mind if I am if only the water tank wasnt on my tummy. We go on our mini cruise thing on 2nd and then have parties. I either drop ten pounds or need new clothes!

Going to bed. I can't eat if I'm asleep.

Thank you for that....the only 99p items I`ve had much to do with is when I look and mail the sellers who frequently have items in the wrong category and have no idea of its true value. One girl got over £30 for her item when she had it listed correctly. Many people finance their businesses on here from items incorrectly listed by their unsuspecting owners.
I could of course buy them at 99p and make a lot of money.. I choose not to.

Don`t give up Huggles..you can do it !

What a day.
Mother pressed her Community Alarm this morning after waking with numb arm and lips. I got the phone call and dashed, called paramedics and took her to hospital in an ambulance.
She had an x ray and has a cracked rib after the fall on Saturday. Saw Doctor from last week who admitted her and did a CT scan, Initial results are no sign of a bleed or stroke, but she is still hallucinating and has numbness.
More tests tomorrow and I'll be back there as Mum is scared and can't hear. All they can do is rule things out.
14 hour day today with virtually no food or drinks, so off to bed now.
Will update tomorrow if I can.
