Well....I'm officially a murderer 😞

Pulled the dryer out and a small brown thing moved swiftly towards me from the murky realms underneath it 😮

Screaming like a banshee cos I'm not right keen on spiders...:| I plucked up all my courage, closed my eyes and stamped down hard in the general direction of gargantula tarantula :_| :_| :_|

There was a sickening crunching noise.....

I daren't look.....

swallowing hard I raised my foot.....

and found I had killed......

a rogue furry malteser 😐

I'm gutted...may have to give some of his friends mouth to mouth resuscitation a bit later to make up for it ]:)

THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

We had a huge spider on our kitchen ceiling a week ago.  It's about 15 or more feet high so no hope of just swatting it.  I got the swat and the Raid and gave a good few sprays up there.  The spider began slowly walking down the wall.  I was ready with the swat as soon as he was low enough.  I waited and waited while he sauntered up a bit, down a bit and sideways a bit.  I took my eyes off him for ONE second and he'd disappeared!!:O  :_|  I searched everywhere for him but I never did find him!

I never stand on spiders, I take my shoe off to hit them.  I can't bear that squelch you can feel, even  through your shoe.  If I'd stood on that malteser thinking it was a spider crunching like that I'd have had the screaming heeby jeebies!:_|

THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

Evening, we had a huge spider a couple of weeks ago. I normally catch them in a cloth and throw them out but this one was too big and too high. He disappeared too! Did Sunday lunch for twenty today. There were only six coming but I over catered! Had cooked beetroot, boiled then fried in butter. Tasted lovely but I forgot. Went to the loo tonight for a shout rather than a whisper and thought I was bleeding out! Stopped just short of calling an ambulance!

I thought you were going to say the spider turned up cooked with the beetroot!

Tinned mushy peas have a similar effect.  Talk about green peas!:O

I can cope with spiders. My horror is rats. We have them in the lane at the back of our houses.:-(

THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

We get quite a few yellowy/orange spiders outside that make a web between two points and just sit there, stock still, day after day in the centre, waiting for their prey.  The other day I picked three or four blades of grass, about half an inch long.  I threw them in the web and the spider shot over to the nearest one and grabbed hold of it with it's two front legs.  I thought it was eating it as it juggled it between it's front legs and it's mouth but it wasn't.  It got it clear of the web and dropped it on the ground.  It then went on and did exactly the same with the other pieces.  It was quite fascinating to watch.:-)

A car has just smashed into the row of cars parked outside my house! Luckly mine was parked at the back! The road to Portland is now completely blocked!
