Know how you feel waiting for it to arrive Jac - I was like that last week.

the guy sounded apologetic and said he would refund my delivery money and said he would chase up on monday morning with city link as it was city link who messed up, now im umming and arring as if it was there mistake or not but then i did get the free gift goods over £115.00 (so the website says) and the guy did say the machine had left chesire depot to swindon depot
i dont know i seem confused and upset

Well - just got back from a Quilting Shop.
Fantastic location in a barn in the Northumbrian countryside. Had a good chat to the lady running it who was very helpful. Have bought everything I need for a small quilt (crib size) which I will use as a lap quilt.
Have had a quick lesson on rotary cutters, and the lady cut my backing and borders and bindings for me.
Have had a good mooch at fabrics and bought a selection, as well as a ruler.
Couldn't get a needle as they only had the very short ones which she didn't recommend. She advised me to get a size 9?
Have been shown a walking foot and how to do bindings, so it was very interesting. Poor OH was rather bored, but came in handy when it was time to pay the bill 😉

Sounds like a nice shop with helpful staff. Just what you need. Is it far from you?
About half an hour in the car, so won't be nipping in. However she did say to ring if I needed help.
They normally do beginners classes, but the owner is ill so won't be any before September.
She also told me about a group she thinks might run near me. Will look in to it.

Am now half way through hand quilting my diagonals.
Not too neat due to the thickness of the wadding unfortunately. Will also have to bind by hand as it's too thick for my machine :-(
