just think of how much you saved!:^O
O/h never see's sales as money saved 😞
Do you think if I hide it till feb I can convince Mr Stan I got it from mdcc B-):^O
13-01-2012 10:41 PM
of course you can 🙂
i've bought 2 radleys that way
13-01-2012 11:01 PM
You can probarbly get away with it shonafp but Mr Stan already thinks that I only spend a few pounds every month on mdcc, poor man really does have no idea :_|
So the question still is can ya get a new radley for a fiver 😉

good morning ladies:-D
wee bit chilly this morning
and i just noticed a huge pile of jehovah witness's coming out of 2 cars:-(
lot of elderly people around here and they told me they cannot get away from them
kinda annoys me that they are made to feel that way in their own homes, and they come here very regularly
maybe they think we all need saving:^O
what people believe is up to them
but these people are VERY forcefulX-(
maybe i should tell them we are all satan worshippers:^O]:)
14-01-2012 10:47 AM
If they ring my bell I give them a cheery good morning & tell them that my views are very different to theirs so thanks but no thanks. They go on their way then.:-) It's their belief they have to spread 'the word & save' as many people as they can.I am never rude but always firm & they just go away.

morning, getting warmer here
is there no sign that the oldies can hang in the door
'no cold callers and God bothers'
i think the word could be given to the local 'group' that they arent welcome there
14-01-2012 10:53 AM
theres a sort of printy thing here
http://4witness.org/jwhelp/jw_stop_visit.php
you need to find the locals and submit a request not to visit, if you can get the locals to sign that would probably help

Morning.:-D What a beautiful day again! I can just feeeeeel all those electricity thingys shooting off to the national grid!:^O I think I must be ill,:-( I've already vacuumed right through the house (apart from the hall that Toby's doing at the moment)
Went to a party last night, was a great laugh!
I bet you go to the door with all your shrunken heads hanging round yor neck merlin, and invite them in to view the coffin, I bet that soon gets rid of them. I just let hubby deal with them, he just keeps saying 'No thank you' and 'Not interested' and I hide behind the door.:^O
14-01-2012 11:10 AM
thank you towery:-D
quite a few have signs & stickers and they still knock
when they answer and say no thank you they just say oh but if i could just.....
the older people dont want to be rude and shut the door on them:-(

Morning all.
Very bright and sunny here but there was a thick frost first thing.
Pub all cleaned and ready for another weekend of football and darts.
Glad you enjoyed your party CG.
14-01-2012 11:26 AM
maybe you could make a few bigger laminate signs for the ones that really need them
14-01-2012 11:27 AM
mrs Stan i understand there is snooker starting too 😐
14-01-2012 11:37 AM
You are right towery snooker starts sunday and will be on in the lounge before the darts final as it clashes with the newcastle game first then the arsenal game.
I actually don't mind the snooker, I love darts and rugby, football's fine with me but i can't stand golf.............
We as a family are huuuuuuuuge motor sports fans as both mr stan and I rallied in our younger days and now we prepare and service a car for one of our sons
Daughter and I also navigate for other drivers.
So F1 season is a must in the bar.

Sounds like a great community place your pub.:-D
14-01-2012 11:48 AM
We are the only pub in a close knit village so everyone tends to gather here.:-)
Our local shop closed 2 years ago and the nearest is a good 4 miles away,:-(
Local school is quite small and post office is held 3 times a week in the community centre.
Library van visits once a week except in winter when it only comes when weather allows.:|
I love living here but the are perks and definite disadvantages :-x

do you keep a stock of essentials in case people cant get to the shop?
bread, eggs, cheese, bacon
toilet roll etc?

Pub is always pretty well stoked so when bad weather hits we check on each other and hand out what is needed.
Local postie has a 4x4 for deliveries and we have a man with a jcb contracting firm who lives in the village and will clear a path through the village so John the postie can bring in shopping from next village down.
Somehow we always seem to muddle through and everyone looks out for each other.
