Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

how are you Von? hope it was just to alter your meds.

hasn't it been lovely? today was my last day off before I go back to work. I had a nice tidy up in the garden, thought about how I'm gonna move a couple of plants, had a read, a little swingy on my swing, and now it's back into the real world!!!

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

I finally got my new glasses this afternoon.  At last, I have a pair of specs that I can see through.  This morning, I had the windscreen wipers changed on the car so the car can't fail its MOT on that tomorrow.  Wednesday, we are off out for the day again.  This time, we are going to Cleveleys.  We will be having a meal first and then the coaches will take us into the centre of Cleveleys and we'll have about three hours of retail therapy.  Thursday, I'm meeting a couple of friends for lunch.  On Friday, we are having our current garage pulled down and our new one will go up on Monday.  Also, the hairdresser is coming on Friday so I've got a busy week ahead.

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

Afternoon all.  Hope that you soon settle down with the new tablets Von.

My car passed its MOT this morning and I've got some housework done this afternoon.  We've taken some more things out of the garage as it's coming down on Friday.  I'm dreading them coming to do it as it will take them a while to move things out that we can't.  At least this time next week, we should be sorted.

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

Why is it having to be replaced Chris?

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

The previous owners of our bungalow chopped about three feet off the front of the garage for one thing and it's asbestos for another.  We decided that it was better to have the garage taken down properly before it falls down.  It's in a right state Maggie.  We'll be glad when it has been done.  The firm that are doing the garage are specialists in removing asbestos garages and the like.

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

I bet tht's an expensive job Chris. I have an asbestos roof on a lean to on the side of the house that needs replacing. It's only tiny but was quoted over £1000 to replace it!!! I keep hoping the winter storms will rip it of so I can claim on the insurance! lol

Off to get my hair streaked in a minute.:)

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

We've got an asbestos man here at the moment removing some asbestos in the barn.

I said to hubby  what a dangerous job it is and he said the chap told him he only has one lung and the other one is damaged.  (but he still smokes!!!)  I'd rather be on the dole than continue to work in those conditions.  He's only in his 40s or there abouts!

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

That's awful CG. Still smoking too. He must have a death wish!

I now have lovely red streaks again so I am happy. Don't like it when my hair is all white.

Re: THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

It's costing around £6000 I think for removing the current garage, sorting the base out and putting the new one up so it is expensive but it will be worth it in the end.  Our next door neighbour is an electrictrician and he's cut the electricity supply to the garage this morning and he'll sort it out when the new garage is up.  He's said he'll put new lights in for us as well.  Mum said she'd settle up with him next week but he said that he didn't want payment which is good of him.
