Unfortunately the wound has started leaking loads - got to wait for the docs to come and decide what (if anything) they are going to do.
I'm covered in in a red itchy rash from the adhesive dressings - I keep telling them that I'm allergic, but they don't listen.
Very tired - they keep waking me up to do drips and things.
Seem to be very stiff this morning, but it might ease off once they get round to doing the drugs round.

I had the red, lumpy itchy blotches too stroppy. By the time everyone from the gardener to the surgeon and back to the receptionist had had a look at my nether regions, they decided it was a reaction to the adhesive on the drapes. Pity about the leakage, have you got a drain in? I expect you will be stiff, lying on the table for hours yesterday. Hope they get everything under control today.:-x

Good to see you posting Stroppy 🙂 Here's hoping this is just a wee hiccup & it can be sorted sharpish. You are an inspiration to all of us on here - how you keep being so stoic & doing what you do is just amazing. Makes me feel very humble & rather ashamed for moaning about my lot in life.
You can't keep a good (wo)man down so keep dangling that dongle, girl - we're all with you :-x
big hugs

Well, docs took the cowards way out, just stick more padding on the top and pray. Told me to say in bed and move as little as possible.
Then the blasted physio terrorists come, and won't listen, insisted on making transfer from bed to chair, from chair to toilet, and back again - of course this all makes the bleeding worse so it looks rather like a re-enactment of the texas chain saw massacre.
Then the occupational terrorists come and insist on repeating exactly the self same exercise.
Dressing has now fallen off completely, and we are waiting for the doctor to come again.
However, I have now been signed off by both physio and occupational terrorists.
I think I'll throw a wobbly in a bit and bawl my eyes out - that usually ensures being left in peace for a bit. Might also manage to persuade them to do my meds at a more reasonable time - messing about with drips at 2:30am is ridiculous!

Does nobody have any common sense any more? 😐
Wishing you all the best, Stroppy. And maybe brain transplants for the others.

I give up, I have just been lectured about scratching my itchy foot - "you'll dislocate your hip". I CAN'T dislocate my hip, there is no head of femur (the ball bit) and no socket for the ball to fit in. The hip has been permanently dislocated since 1999! You'd think that they'd know better.

Oh dear poor Stroppy ...Its very worrying when the so called experts dont know what there doing , make them read your notes then at least they may have some idea ... 😮

Suspect's Stroppy's note are the size of two very large old books that are somewhere in the basement. Not that many Docs can read their own let alone each others handwriting!.
Hope you are feeling a bit better Stroppy - luck with it.

How are you today stroppy , hope your getting better 🙂

What's the news stroppy ?:|

Yes, my notes are rather like 10 volumes of the encyclopedia Britannica!
Doing o.k. - catheter out, pressure boots gone, so able to move about more easily.
I just wish they'd let me get some sleep instead of forever waking me up to do the drip.
I'm also getting increasingly annoyed about the constant badgering about bladder and bowels, they moan if you go, they moan if you don't.
06-05-2013 3:35 PM
I felt like getting a tattoo on my forehead saying, Yes, I've opened my bowels! B-)
Keep on getting well stroppy!:-x

Perhaps Royal Velvet could start a new line for mdcc - the hanging sign, one side "yes I've been" the other side "no result yet".
07-05-2013 6:02 PM
Well, I'm being moved from short stay recovery, to a longer - term ward, so perhaps a Friday discharge was over optimistic.
Am strictly confined to bed, and instructed that I'm to do nothing more energetic than breathing as every time I move we have a re-enactment of the Texas chain saw massacre - will this blasted wound ever heal up!
07-05-2013 6:13 PM
Ooo stobbit stropy, that doesn't sound good at all.:-( Please get well soon.:-x
