leo, will not be hard to be with the folk closest to me ! There is only the two of us and one dog left  Smiley LOL. Gifts bought for everyone except my wife but did the repairs myself to save money to make sure I can get her something nice as she deserves it for putting up with me.

Nothing left after that for any frivolities but we have each other so who cares.

We will still have Christmas, but a very dumbed down one, just found out the dog needs treatment for the rest of his life - at £72.12 every 2 weeks!! He's well worth any sacrifice though and as there will just be the 2 of us (and dogs) a very tame Christmas will be fine. Hope you have a good time regardless of money shortage!

Can I ask what the treatment is? My partners dog needed some very expensive tablets from the vet, but we got him to right a private prescription and got the drugs an awful lot cheaper online. Did the same with my parents dalmation that had gout ( what a posh illness for a dog!). The vet was charging them around £50 a month for the tanlets but with a private script it only cost a couple of quid. Always worth checking and give your dog a hug from us xx

Re: Sorry folks ! Christmas is cancelled this year ..................................

sorry for the delay in answering - storm damage took priority!!! The treatment is to try to slow down to signs of dementia that he is showing. He is a giant breed (Newfoundland) 8 years old and the sweetest natured boy you could ever come across. Unfortunately he is very expensive when it comes to vet bills because of his size, although as I have already said he is worth every penny. He has also developed arthritis which he is having Metacam for, these new pills are expensive so I have said that I will buy them on a trial basis and only continue if I can see some improvement, but since we have treated the arthritis he seems to be showing an all round improvement so although I have bought the new pills I have held off giving them to him yet in the hope that he may not need them yet. If they become a regular expense I will try getting them elsewhere, thanks for the advice on that.
