So....how was your Christmas??

Hope you have all had a wonderful day.

Mine didnt start until 9am when I woke up. My son and I opened our presents after we had had breakfast. Managed to chill out for a couple of hours as the vegetables had been prepared the day before.

We had our lunch down at a friends house with his two boys. As we always have a mahoosive sunday lunch anyway, the timings were easy.

We stacked the plates sooooooooooooo high with food but everybody ate absolutely everything given.

I was far too full to eat anything else but the boys did manage to make a start on their christmas choccies.

We came back home in time to watch SCD, Call the Midwife and Dr Who.

I then had an hours soak in the bath thereafter putting on my new very warm and comfy onesie.

We then make inroads into the christmas goodies - the cheese and biscuits and the nuts.

Now just finishing the day watching Jonathan Creek - a good murder mystery on christmas eve is a must!!!!

Hope you have all had a wonderful day.

Looking forward to tomorrow as am helping to prepare a buffet lunch.

Remember - it takes 17 muscles to smile and 44 muscles to frown - SO KEEP SMILING 🙂

Re: So....how was your Christmas??

A mixed sort of a day. Started off with a dressing change by a staff member with very little experience - not terribly pleasant.

Then one of the junior doctors came and took me, my baxter pump for i.v. meds and loads of meds home.

Opened pressies - some super things and had a facetime session with daughter and grandchildren. Facetime session was great, grandson loved his new socks (family tradition, all men and boys HAVE to have socks for Chrimbo).

Then apple support phoned and we spent nearly two hours trying to sort some of the issues out with my new iPad - sorted some, but still not 100%. We did manage to get my iPad totally disassociated from son's apple-id, so that was good.

Lovely meal early evening, roast duck with apricot stuffing and loads of veggies.

"Him indoors" took me back to hossie after we had eaten.

Spent another couple of hours with apple customer support, using online chat this time. Super guy - we ended up totally wiping the iPad and setting it up again from scratch, and finally all is working as it should. I have it downloading free apps and sysncing with iTunes.

All in all, a pretty good day.

Re: So....how was your Christmas??

We had a quiet day.  We watched SCD and Call the Midwife as well.  I never known the two of us be so quiet as we were when Call the Midwife was on.  Steph rang at around 8pm last night.  She had had a lovely time and she sounded really happy.  Grace had a good day as well as Father Christmas brought her a bike and a pram amongst many other things.  Steph loved the dress, tights and undies we had bought for Grace and the cardigan I'd knit for her as well.  All in all, a lovely day.  Was going to go swimming of 8am but I don't think I will do as we have a really thick frost.  Mum wants to go to a massive M & S on the outskirts of Warrington later.  I think that my swim might be going out of the window.  Anything the boss wants, the boss must have.  I might be somewhat bald at the end of the day but never mind.  I am definitely going tomorrow or else I would scream.

Re: So....how was your Christmas??

Ours was ok even if the tv was rubbish for a Christmas day. As usual I awoke about 0430, got up, showered and took the dog a walk along the beach. Came home and made breakfast then started the cooking about half six.

We had a very nice meal together late afternoon and then my wife watched a couple of programmes she liked and I just played a couple of games on the computer as I am not a great watcher of tv.

Later she watched a couple of those paranormal witness progs and I went into the bedroom to watch a couple of programmes about ships which interest me as I am ex navy.

All in all a nice day but I think they could make a bit more effort with the programmes they put on for Christmas day evening.

Re: So....how was your Christmas??

I had a lovely time at son's home.  He cooked dinner and tea so I didn't need to lift a finger.  They bought me another computer.  They bought me an iPad for my birthday in February but I don't use it as I don't like it.  I got a new laptop about September time because my old one broke.  This one was windows 8 and I don't like it either, so now they;ve bought me a thinkcentre???  It looks a bit big, not as handy as a lappy but I suppose I'll have to give it a try.

My granddaughter loved  her box of sewing equipment, fabric, needles, tape measure, scissors, threads, everything you can  think of, but when a later present revealed a sewing machine she said it was the best day of her life!!

Son's girlfriend's daughters cried when they were told they were going to Egypt tomorrow, it was such a surprise.

So all in all a lovely day!

Re: So....how was your Christmas??

Very quiet yesterday just the three of us, had Christmas dinner at 3pm Goose, very nice. then sat and watched some programmes we had recorded as the TV was rubbush until Dr. Who and Call the midwife, went to bed at about 10.30pm.  Today we had parents around and Aunt, very quiet, they were all well behaved ,we had lunch and father got hold of the remote control messed up the freeview recorder and we have had to reset it. They have all gone home now and I shall be going to bed soon as I am up at 2 for work in the morning, shame, only tomorrow then I am off untill next Thursday.

Re: So....how was your Christmas??

Very expensive but so worth it, hubby was working long shifts all over Christmas (6.00am-10.00pm) so I took 3 of the grandsprogs to Disneyland Paris, 2 of them for the first time. Loved seeing the tiny ones faces when they actually got to meet the princesses at lunch. Rained a bit but even the weather couldn't dampen the Disney spirit & the good news is that I get to do it all again after the new grandchild is born in April 🙂
