Good afternoon everybody. Cold here again, but I'm in the onesie and pottering round the kitchen which keeps the old blood going round.

Afternoon all. It was sunny this morning but it's since clouded over a lot. It's still cold though. On the weather forecast on the TV earlier on, it said that there would be no more snow this winter. I hope that they're right.
I went to sit on the chair in my bedroom earlier on and I lost my balance and promptly ended up banging down on the floor. The lower part of my back is a bit sore and I was shaken up a bit but apart from a little bit of pain, I am not to bad. I'll pop a couple of painkillers in in a while to see if it will help. The last two did.

Ow, nasty. Hope it feels all right very soon.

Thanks Mouse. At the moment, it doesn't feel too bad. Luckily, I have plenty of padding in the posterior region. It still hurt though.

You'll have a bruise on yer bum!!
Worse though is the shake up it gives you isn't it. Really makes your teeth rattle. To think, toddlers fall over loads of times a day and mostly jump up and carry on. When we do it, it affects us for days!

I heard once that, due to the law of reciprocicicicity, or something, although we are only twice as tall as a child, we fall over with 16 times the force.

It did shake me up a bit but I'll get over it. It will probably feel worse tomorrow but I hope not. Don't you feel a fool though when anything like that though? At least I was at home when it happened.

I used to feel a prannet and all embarrassed, but frankly it happens so often nowadays that I'm over it! For instance, on Tuesday I managed to trip over in church at a funeral, and only caught hold of a brass rail or would have gone my length in the aisle.
If you have an affliction, like rheumatoid, that makes these things happen a lot, I think you stop caring after a while what the world thinks, as long as you're safe!

I'm arthritic and I seem to fall easily but today is the first time I've fallen in a good while thankfully. My main problem is that I had to have my right ankle removed in 1994 due to really bad arthritis. My foot was fused to my leg but a few months later, the fusion had come undone. I then had to have another operation in which part of my pelvis was grafted into where my ankle was. There are times, my right foot decides it doesn't want to do what I want it to do. Never mind, there's plenty worse than me.

hope you soon get over the shock of falling, really shakes you up doesn't it? Take care

Thanks Myra. I'm over the shock now but my lower back is hurting a bit. What am I like?

You would be a very odd shape if your hip bone was joined to your ankle bone! lol

You're right there Maggie.
It's been misty nearly all day here. I've thought that it's going to clear a couple of times and then it's come back. It's still on the cold side.

Ya-hey! I won a hunk of pork in the meat raffle at the club last night!
08-02-2015 5:21 PM
Well done that Mouse.
08-02-2015 6:18 PM
oooh I love pork, well done Mouse!!
aaww Chris what are you like!! hope you aren't hurting too much. I once fell on our decking at our other house, OH had done it so nice but it was slippy as hell in the wet. I went out to feed the birds in the snow, had my work boots on and slipped on the decking, I went down with the earthquake force of about 9!!! OH said the house shook, cheeky blighter hahahahaaaaa. I couldn't get up I was so ashamed....gawd, that's the one thing I fear now is falling because I just can't get up properly.

I've not been too bad today thank you CB. It was sore this morning but not as bad as I thought it would be. Funnily enough, there's no sign of any bruising which surprises me. It didn't half hurt at the time and it shook me up quite a bit. Mum said it shook her as well. It's the first time I've fallen in a while but it is frightening when it happens.
