I remember we parked the caravan at Fort William and hubby pulled the car forward without removing the electric plug on the towbar. He spent HOURS trying to get all those wires (about 30 I think) in the right places in the plug. When he put the right winker stalk down the brake lights came on, switch the side lights on and the fog light came on instead, the headlights put the radio on etc. etc.
We got a hole in the fuel tank one year. We couldn't get a new one anywhere so we had to come all the way home from Edinburgh with a tank that held only two gallons below the hole. Do you know how many petrol stations there are between there and home?? We had to call at every one for 'Just two gallons please'. He got a new tank at the local garage, painted the inside with anti-rust stuff, left it to dry, took the old one off, put the new one on, went and filled it up....................................................and it had a hole in it!! 
We went right the way round Angelsey with a hole in the silencer once, looking for a garage. In the 70s there wasn't one. We sounded like an aeroplane! I could write a book, it was great fun!
Have you got a bike? 
Perhaps you could make some things to sell? They will bring lots of pennies.

Son finished his holiday job today & he's going on his first visit to Scotland on Friday for a few days ...... I just worked out its 31yrs since I last went there 😮
I remember geting the boat over to Largs for the day & hiring bikes to ride round the island, we stayed with some friends in Ayr & isn't there a hill called something like 'electric brea' where you go backwards! ...... or was that just me that had had one too many drams
