Returning a large multi-part item

Quick question, I bought a new ottoman double bed frame and was messed about by the trade seller. Delivered late, wrong parts, lied to, false promises etc etc it went on for weeks.

Eventually I had to open a case and obviously ebay have sided with me but say I have to return the item to get the refund.

My question is its going to take me a lot of time to package up all the large pieces and I can imagine due to size and weight it's going to be very expensive to ship back.

Am I right in saying the seller has to reimburse me for the postage and if so how will they know what to pay me? Do I send a shipping invoice?

I think the guy is a crook, they NOW have a flood of negative feedback from people all being ripped off so I hold no hope for getting the postage costs back so am  ow worried.

Anyone had a similar case and can advise me how return postage costs work please?

Returning a large multi-part item

The best thing to do, is ring ebay and explain that the item is too big and expensive to return yourself, because it`s really upto the seller to deal with it, i.e collect the item, but you also need proof of return, usually a tracking number, so i would ring ebay and see what they say. if you get nowhere with the seller or even ebay, try your card provider if that`s how you paid.

This is why i would always recommend buying larger items from a store, Ebay may be convenient, but when you have an issue like this or with a warrenty, it`s just a nightmare getting it dealt with. Have to say as well, having a bed made to order AND delivered as well in 3-5 days would have thrown a red flag to me.
