I've just seen this posted on my f/b. Has this been rolled out over the country or is it just in Nottinghamshire? Comments have already been left about the increase in fly- tipping.

Our council lets cars use the tip for free, but vans have to register. Easy enough as it's free and registration lasts a year. Don't know if that's about to change though. We've just recieved the quarterly community magazine and didn't see anything about it in there.

It's the same with our council - cars can use the tip for free but vans have to register. After registering, vans are only allowed to use the tip a limited amount of times during the year.

Yes, registration lasts a year but limited visits within that year. I think we have 12.

Here in Epsom it's not the specific car that qualifies you to use the local recycling centre, it's whether or not you are a local resident. Simply producing proof of address at the entrance will do.
Commercial people do need to be registered and as I understand it they are given some kind of document as proof - again not tied to any specific vehicle.

It's a bit of a pain sometimes. We had quite a lot of large stuff that wouldn't fit in the car so my son took it in his van, and they wouldn't let him in. It wasn't business rubbish, it was household rubbish which was plain to see. We had to make 3 seperate trips in the end, in the car.

There is no charge, you just have to register. Bit of a pain when you load up and travel there and can't go in or change your car and forget to inform them. Most of the recycling places by us have been closed down and the ones still open are so picky. Nah we can't take car parts etc etc. So what are we suposed to do with them then?

We had to register and print a permit out to take some household rubbish in a trailer.
In Tyneside.
