Although I have over 160 puzzles at any one time, my wife insisted I bought her a puzzle for Christmas I found one she really wanted - she'd been looking for ages for this particular one, so she was thrilled. I was happy for her until she came down earlier this evening, took off the tablecloth and announced that she was going to do it.
"That's nice." I said, with half an ear.
"No, we're going to do it." It's only a standard 1000 piece puzzle of Stratford-upon-Avon. Well, a couple of hours, maybe, methinks. Four-and-a-half-hours later, it's still only three-quarters done! Talk about time consuming. ( Roll eyes) Now we've gotta finish it! Before going to church!
I think I'm rather better at selling puzzles than doing them!
How long does it take you do do a standard 1000 piece puzzle?

Ooh - that sky! Clever you! Unfortunately this puzzle is not a Ravensburger or a Gibsons, so they are loose fitting, which makes things a lot harder. I'm very discerning when it comes to puzzles. I've bought puzzles where the pieces have been so thin, they've gone straight into the bin. The picture might be OK but if the pieces are paper thin, I don't sell it. With a Ravensburger or Clementoni you should be able to pick the puzzle up almost on it's edge without it falling to pieces. The top quality ones have 1008 pieces in their boxes but round it down to 1000 pieces for phonetic purposes. Puzzles I won't touch with a barge pole are V----nt. If I'm not happy with the quality of a puzzle, neither will my clients be, and my clients are everything.

I like the Ravensburger 3D puzzles. They are made of plastic and are very sturdy when assembled.
I have got nearly all of them.
I have tried other makes, but I didnt like them.

Years ago when the first came out I tried one but it was hopeless. In the early years the pieces were made of sobo rubber, and I couldn't get it round my head it was a 3D puzzle. When I did try to put the pieces together they were too flimsy and kept falling apart. In the end I dumped it. !

So, you've not attempted the baked beans one - with a picture on both sides of the puzzle?

If that's the one in a cube box with 108 pieces, I've averaged about 45 minutes per puzzle....

You're showing your age! Woolworth brought out a spate of them one Christmas.
