Im fed up this morning as i got my official letter about my cut in hours at my little job. I work fifteen and they are cutting mine to ten and getting someone else to do the five as they used to have two cleaners and want that again. I still think this is unfair,, i dont know. I did start off at ten when i first went there as the only cleaner. I know i still have a job and yes there are people worse off i understand that. I got cross this morning as there was a situation when i had not been informed about a certain change about rubbish bags. No one bothered telling me at all, they just seem to think im phsycic or something. I just feel cleaners are treat like dirt nowadays in some ways. My boss is speaking to me tomorrow as i was ranting in some texts i sent him this morning and felt i was going to lose it completely!!!. I get so angry i literally can feel my head nearly exploding with annoyance. I do stand up for myself now at least ,,,,something i never used to do!!!!.  i have had a rant ,,im sorry and i am grateful for at least having a job so please dont think im not.

That doesn't sound right, how can they drop your hours then take on someone else will they be doing the same hours as you were?

Mine were fifteen,,, their dropping them to ten. And taking on someone else to do the five they have dropped from me!!!!. I have accepted it as at least i have ten left!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Its just that i think its a bit strange. They say they used to have two cleaners and now they want to revert back to that!!!. Thats all i have been told,, its nothing to do with my work they said either.

Perhaps it's to do with the amount of tax and insurance THEY have to pay once an employee goes over a certain amount.  Two doing less don't cost tax and NI.  Note I said PERHAPS because I don't know, but there are sometimes hidden reasons like that.

I cannot allow myself to get uptight about it,, i had a lot of other trouble in another job because i was the only person to open her mouth and say something!!!. You just get branded the troublemaker if you do!!. Im going to make myself ill and i do not want that. I think its time to look for another position in the new year in another sort of job really.

Are they going to be working along side you Rose maybe their thinking is four hands work quicker than 2, personally I'd let it go over your head and look elsewhere for a better employer.

Yes stan i think that is it . Even though they are cutting my hours they have been saying thay want more work done??. I suppose yes two can work faster that just one. Yes im not going to let it worry me. I have done enough worrying over work, i cant do it any more you see.

Have you thought - they are looking for coverage for holidays.  Your hours have gone up to 15, maybe they can see them increasing more - would you want more?  2 people give more flexibility than 1. 

Could be saving money but probably not an issue on 15 hours.  In fact could cost them more.

Guardpig i was on 15, now they have cut them to 10, (mine that is). They are employing another woman to do the other five. They want two cleaners and not one.

I heard this morning it is a lady apparently,,,, no offence to men but i feel more comfortable ,,at least we can talk easily ha ha ha. And not fall out as i do not want that at all. I worked in a group of three and the others were causing problems and nastiness. I have had enough of the nastiness ,, i like being nice to people and getting on!!!.. I prefer if people have a problem they say to you face to face instead of going behind your back.
