Just taken delivery of my first ever online grocery shopping; found it a bit daunting when I ordered it, but I know the procedure now. Really pleased with it all. Think its the way to shop in future as we don't have a car, saves carrying the shopping to the bus station, also cheaper than a taxi and saves a lot of time. Not sure OH is as keen on the idea as me though. Will be good in winter too, shop from the comfort of home

You have to bear in mind that my "local" shops are Asda, Tesco, Sainsburys, Co-op, Iceland and Lidl. There is a veggie stall but no bakers or butchers(that I'd use) on my normal travels So anything I forget in store or not I end up in store for anyway. Have got a McColls but they are emergency only as they are way overpriced and rarely have stock of anything I want when I want it anyway.
In my experience you cannot trust online for fresh meat, veg or bread so usually pick the rest of the shopping up when i'm in there anyway.

Wish Morrisons would start doing it???, their a bit behind and i like some of their stuff. I would like to try Asda though they have a lot of choice i think.

The ASDA delivery is free all summer if you spend £75, which is quite a lot for 2 but I buy for my daughter/SIL + 2 cats too!

I wonder if the Asda free delivery is England only.
I get their delivery every week ( today in fact ) & haven't heard anything, though they did do it last year.

I think Morrisons hope to be up and running sometime next year; they are losing out by not having an online service.

Yes, I got a bit confused with the B.O.G.O.F. Soon got the hang of it. Haven't had anything to tell me how my shopping compared to the others though under the price promise scheme.

I am on my own & can easily spend over £75 on a shop! Wine & Brandy isn't cheap you know! lol

I got my bread and some of the veg in my order; still not sure whether to trust the meat or chicken though; I suppose the only way is to try it once and see what its like? Would be alot easier if I could get everything in one go.

I always get meat, veg and bread online because the only local greengrocer's stuff is nowhere near as good, also, if I had to get the car out and drive miles to get stuff, there's be no point in having deliveries. Perhaps areas differ but I've never had a problem with any of these products.

carol, you should order exactly what you are wanting, when they deliver, they point out anything missing, and substitutions, and ask if they are acceptable, anything you wish to check (meat/veg/bread) do so, and if they are not acceptable, you send them back and they refund. i buy these things locally through preference rather than not liking what i get in a delivery

I think Morrisons are a bit behind the times because they wanted to do a deal with Ocado who have always just done Waitrose online deliveries.
There was some puffing of Directorial chests as Waitrose said Ocado could not as it would be in conflict with Waitrose and risk reducing the service to their customers, and would be in breach of their contract so they could sue them , and Ocado saying effectively " oh no we're not", and a few weeks ago I read that Ocado had signed the agreement with Morrisons.
So it can only be a matter of time before it's up and running.

Thanks, CB, that's good to know. We live in a seaside town so the supermarkets are going to be packed from now until Sept, so would prefer to stay away from them and get everything delivered.

I have used it before but would ony use for items with a long shelf life ie. frozen etc as I noticed the staff would always choose the fresh food with the nearest sell by date where as if I shop myself I always choose from the back of the pile to ensure I get the products with the longer sell by date.
