I have been worried about who our new incoming neighbour might be - we live in flats on top of one another and the last 3 tenants have been alcoholics - delightful gentlmen, but oh dear, their visitors! The Police have been called on several occasions (fights, damage to property etc). Well... Mister New Tenant is young, polite, well-spoken, respectful and cheery. And, er, good-looking. Oh, the gods are smiling on this old Mouse today! At last a bit of sanity has been used in the selection process, it seems.

I know that feeling of dread all too well,
I've lived in flats and all was well until the nice couple above me installed wood floors just as their baby became a very mobile toddler.

Oh crikey. Nightmare.
One of our previous, right on top of us, used to run the washer of fast spin at 3am. She was also schitzophrenic. I still get the odd Christmas card from her!

good respectful neighbours are a boon
even if you arent living on top of each other
the girls across the road are moving before the end of the month - taking their jack russel and its barking with them. they work odd shifts

The chap that lives next door to us was born with a hammer in one hand and a drill in the other and he used to go on until 11pm. That was until we threatened him with a letter from our solicitors because it was that bad. Fortunately, he's not long since sold up and we are just waiting for him and his equally miserable wife to move. I'm hoping that the new neigbours aren't as bad. We have one other woman who causes problems because what she doesn't know, she makes up. Apart from those, we are lucky because the rest of our neighbours are brilliant.

I think he has moved in next door but one to my sister

now you are all really scaring me ! we hope to downsize in the not too distant future, and realise that it will probably have to be to a house with neighbours. At the moment we have nobody around us bt the thought of living next door to somebody is getting more alarming by the day.

I must admit though Myra, the majority of our neighbours are fine. When I had to call for the paramedics for my mum last week, the lady that lives on the other side of us came round to see how my mum was when she got home from work and the lady who lives directly opposite rang more or less as soon as the paramedics had gone. Another neighbour asked my mum how she was the day after we'd had the paramedics so it's not all bad.

Well tonight was great! I went up to give him a washing-up bowl (he's got practically nothing) and spent 3 hours in bed with him talking and drinking tea! Bed because there's nowhere else to sit - he's got no chairs. Very platonic and rather touching - we get on, despite him being 24 and me 53.

Oh dear, it's getting worse..... I've just cooked his tea! Bless him, he'd not had a hot meal for days until I did him my amazing lamb stew.
