with that mahooosive gust of wind last night, the fence panels got lifted up in the air and blown across the garden, landed in front of the kitchen window!! This morning we have 50 tiles replaced on the roof, 7 fence panels gone awol, some of my lovely planters smashed to bits, and the outside plastic sheds which were screwed to the wall of the bungalow, are in pieces and all the contents spilled all over the side path!!! Gawd! the mess. Poor OH has had to phone his mate to come and help him clean up as I am otherwise detained as a mad cabing fevered loonie in the house and I can't get down the step!!!!
Oh woe is me

Aww Stan and CB I was thinking of you both last night, and this morning when I watched the news, you really did have it bad didn't you. I know it is easy to say but let everyone else worry about it and you two look after your selves, there is nothing you can do, except maybe organise everything.
Big hugs to you both look after yourselves.
Remember we are all here if you want to have a rant and rave.

ere stan you borrowing my husband again.

Awwwwwwwwww CB. That's not fair is it. I feel awful because we've had no damage here. A friend of mine had part of his roof blown off and about 10 panes of glass in his greenhouse have been broken. The local rugby club has had damage to their stadium.
Hope that you've not got too much damage Stan. Honestly, this weather is disgustingly bad.

Oh Captain, what a mare you are having. Gosh I wonder when this crazy weather will ease up.
The wind has dropped here, I am sitting in coach and suddenly realised it wasnt being rocked about like a cross channel ferry,

I feel heartily sorry for people who have suffered damage to their property due to this awful weather. We are very lucky where I live. It surprises me really because the houses behind the houses opposite me actually face farmland which is obviously far more open. At lunchtime, I went out for a drink with my dad. A phone line was done at a house opposite the pub. I don't know how they managed to get their car off the drive.
Hope that everyone soon gets their property damage sorted out as quickly and painlessly as possible. Also, I hope that everyone stays safe.

Oh heck Captain - hard to know what to say really. Sorry about your roof and plants and stuff, and your elderly neighbour's greenhouse. I s'pose all we can say is, as long as you and yours are safe and sound, most material things can be replaced eventually.
Must be so difficult and stressful though, just hope you're okay and send you good wishes.

Aww CB im sorry to hear youve had so much damage to your home & lovely garden. Still as long as nobody is hurt its all repairable so no use worrying. Stan i hope your home isnt to wet & its all ok by the time you get to go home
Its so horrible hearing about so many suffering this nasty weather
13-02-2014 10:18 PM
Sorry to hear of your damage and hope things get rectified shortly at not too much cost.
13-02-2014 10:26 PM
You have had it bad captain, we lost a tile and a fence panel, hubbie was up a ladder pushing tile back, when son drove past on way home and pulled to a sudden halt, didn't recognise strange fellow up ladder, in beanie hat (never seen his dad wearing a hat)
13-02-2014 10:36 PM
Oh booker CB. That's not good. At least everyone is safe.
14-02-2014 1:08 AM
Sorry to hear about the damage, but as others have said although damage to "things" may be expensive and inconvenient, damage to people can be more difficult to fix.

You speak the truth there Stroppy!
