Paid over £3.00 for a spray de icer guaranteed to work in temperatures of minus 15 and it didn't work. Anybody found one that does work?
Because I start work really early I need something reliable as I don't have the time or inclination to faff around.

Another thing you should do ed is make the screenwash in the bottle stronger by adding less water. Then it just miht not freeze in the nozzle and on the screen when you use it.

Already done that ta. Think I might just get a blow torch to it and be done.

I have a similar problem Ed, although not as early as you.
I have a Citroen Picasso and the windscreen is so large that it takes ages to de-ice the outside, and demist the inside.
I have tried things on the inside of the screen, but that didn't work.
I can't really put a cover over the outside of the screen as my car is in a parking area as I have no drive.
In desperation, I have just bought a 12V blower / heater to try and clear the screen. Will be trying it tomorrow morning if it's frosty, so watch this space.

5'3" ninja drives a transit so cannot reach all the window to scrape it 🙂
Not sure neighbours will be too happy with me starting her up at 7am on a Sunday morning to warm her up before I goes to work
Note to self - need to get neighbours something nice for Christmas

Simplest way of dealing with the windscreen is to start the engine and set the blower on the screen then throw a bucket of water on the outside. (NOT hot water!!!)
It's life Jim, but not as WE know it.
Live long and prosper.

Ah, well. We live near the local newsagent/bookies/convenience store. The sound of our engines running whatever day is always quieter than the fridge lorries delivering(between 06.30 and 07.30 every day!!. Don't even notice the racket after 20+ years. ((((neighbours)))) ))))renting students(((( who think they can block us out of the space outsidee their house, they really should remember who has the only set of jump leads this side of Halfords LOL.
