MATTRESS PROTECTOR'S ......... need help please x

Which ones are the best ?

sooooo many to chose from & such a  masssive  difference in price.....for which ALL  appear to be doing the same thing ;-);-)

There's one at almost £100 and 100's inbtwn ,ALL stated roughly to do the same ie: Anti mite/bug/dust/healthier etc etc

yes ...some are also waterproof ......which would be an advantage ,as i have night sweats due to the menopause,so possibly this would be a yes!! ... tick ok ...but as for  all the other 267choices .....which one do i chose???

Q: Which make have you got?

please advice 🙂

Mine is a feather and down topper which I really like but obviously not suitable for allergy sufferers .....but it is soft and comfy ...

It can still go in the washer and be tumbled dried.

At the end of the day it is just down to personal choice ....

Re: MATTRESS PROTECTOR'S ......... need help please x

But because theyn dont cover the very bottom (the opposite to where you sleep) the dust nmites get through..... so i need a total encasement mattress protector!!! ......but they differ soooooo much in price!!

i think that i'm gonna stick m'neck out & go for the one that anbout £50.........roughly in the middle.......its anti allegen 100%,fully encased with a full zip around the entire mattress, and is breathable. Its made of a soft terry towelling type fabric that's treated with special things to make it anti ~nasties~lol........The only thing i cant get my head round is this!!!!

IF THIS IS TREATED WITH SPECIAL CHEMICALS ETC .....HOW CAN YOU THEN KEEP WASHING IT .....AND IT "S T I L L WORK??"

or is it just the fact the the fabric is sooooooo dence and soooo closely woven, the mites cant penetrate the material???.....over to you all ??? ....i'm going to have a nice wash bubble batyh and a glass of Cab Sav x

I have just a normal quilted one, in fact I have 2 and because I also suffer from the night sweats, I change mine frequently so I have one on and one off.  I think you would find the waterproof ones very hot.  I bought mine in Mr. T's for about £18.00.

Re: MATTRESS PROTECTOR'S ......... need help please x

Do you need a Mattress Protector or a Matteress Topper.  If you need a matteress protector and want waterproof due to your night sweats, Dun Elm M**l do one that is quilted on the top and waterproof on the bottom they are elasticated around the base. Really good value and the waterproof bit is not noisy or hot They can be washed easily and drip dried. Might be a cheaper option until the night sweats stop. If you want a topper then its worth paying a reasonable price for one. The cost will depend on if you want a feather one or down or both.  But you might find its too warm whilst going through the dreaded change of life.  Hope that helps..

Re: MATTRESS PROTECTOR'S ......... need help please x

sorry ~ we have a 2in memory foam topper for comfort already
i have a basic stretch towelling "fitted sheet type" protector over the topper.....then place my fitted sheet that we sleep.

I change the fitted sheet (we sleep on ) ans flat top sheet ....twice a week....and wash the quilted towelling cover thats over the topper and my duvet cover every week .....say once a month...i then turn my mattress round to air it .I dont have bed bugs and try to hoover the mattress once a month also ....x

So its an ANTI ALLERGY MATTRESS PROTECTOR we need

something that encases the entire mattress !!!

Actually .....i have tried the strong paper type in 2's ,placing them over each side and tacked with a running stitch ....but was rubbish!!

I asked Health beds here in Rotherham ....and they quoted me £200 to make me one....!!!

So i typed in total covered protectors...... and discovered ..... "ENCASEMENT MATTRESS PROTECTION " ......but then realised that they differ in price from as lkittle as £16 n....to well over £100

So my initial Q? WAS .........R THE £18+ ONE'S .....AS GOOD AS THE £45+ ...... AND £100+ ?????

i'm aware some are thicker, and nicer/softer/more quilted/fully zipped/whiter/non chlorine bleached WHAT EVER THAT MEANS>???

lol ....... WAS JUST HOPING 3/4 ...would say the same thing .... eg: we have the xyz 2001 version and its brilliant !!! .... am i making sence here ?? lol xxxx

keep them message coming ppl ...... tyvm x
