Lundy Island - Has Anyone Ever Been?

If so, what's it like?  What I mean is, I know it's a natural, unspoilt place

where you don't go to do big shopping, play computer games or laze about,

but is it worth a visit?

We're thinking of going from holiday.  It's somewhere I've always wanted

to go.

is that the island where the puffins live..not been but heard it is lovely there.

Yes Cookie, puffins do live there, along with various other seabirds, and seals and dolphins apparently.

Thanks Petal, I've been looking at the images too and it looks lovely.

As loing as the sea isn't too rough it'll be lovely.  We'd have to get up at 6am and go from

where we are staying as the boat leaves early.  I haven't checked that it isn't fully booked

yet though.

Live not far away, went when I was younger, absolutely beautiful, and peaceful, dont expect nightclubs and swimming pools, but if its peace and quiet you want this is the place to go. very rugged and if the wind blows not much shelter, sometimes if the weather is bad the ship doesn't go so be prepared for disapointment if the weather is too bad. (happened to me twice a long time ago though)  However at the moment it should be fine.

If you go enjoy yourselves. If the sun is shining nothing can beat it.

Thanks for that, don't worry I certainly don't expect nightclubs, nor want them.  Much as I love

swimming, who needs pools when on a lovely island surrounded by sea?!  I'm told it's safe

to swim if you're careful, the best place being in the sheltered bit by the jetty.

Knowing my luck it'll be blowing force 9 gales and piddling down, but if it isn't I reckon we'll

give it a go.

The weather forcast seems quite good so I think you will be fine, by the way there is a pub on the Island called I believe the Marisco Tavern so ideal after a walk around the island,  dont forget the journey back though,   Hope you manage to see some Puffins, but I think they might be at sea now.

Have a fab time and enjoy North Devon if that is where you are staying. Its a wonderful place to live.
