Lovely neighbour

Just had my neighbour at the door to ask if everything was alright because she had heard knocking on our joint wall. She's an ex-nurse and my husband has been ill on and off for a few years and she thought I might have been trying to summon her. I wasn't, I was just knocking a nail in the wall as my calendar had fallen down! But what a kind thought.

That's lovely.  I must admit, the majority of our neighbours are brilliant.  There are a couple of them that I wouldn't give time of day to though.

But it also shows that you are a good neighbour mumsie because your being noisy is obviously unusual. 😄

Great to know that if you did knock on the wall, she would be there to help you. xx

Yes it is reassuring to have good neighbours.  The ones the other side are super as well.  When we are away they move our cat into their house and give him his own armchair!  They open and draw our curtains and if we come back at night they leave our lights on so we don't have to come in in the dark.  A couple of times when we've come back from long haul flights they have brought round a cooked dinner!

We live in a very small road and most people have lived here for years. Our children have all grown up together and I suppose we do all look out for one another.

our neighbours here are nice but elderley, so it's us looking out for them. When our neighbour went out for the day very early, she'd left all the blinds down in the conservatory and I never saw them go up all day. I began to worry she'd fallen as her sight it bad...I told her she gave me a fright:^O

we moved because we had a right a*s* for a neighbour, but I miss Donna who was on our other side. If we'd been joined to her we would never have moved:|

Yes, ours are fine.  The woman on one side came over at 8am two mornings running with all her gear and took blood from me when I couldn't get in the car to go to the doctors. 😄

PCC, that's sad in a way isn't it? that peeps cannot get on with each other and respect each other, it starts with little things and then they just take another inch, and another, it's pathetic.

We had 14yrs living next door to someone who thought he could do exactly what he wanted with no regard to others at all. In the end I could see it would come to blows, so we just got the hell out.

😐

the pigeons were the final straw, I don't object to pigeon keeping but not less than 5 metres from my kitchen doorsX-( I've since heard that the pigeons have now gone, but his dogs keep getting into the garden and pooping! I bet the new owner isn't too happy about that. Gawd knows how they are getting in, there's a fence and then a 10ft high privet hedge so I think he's letting them get in...it's his way of testing how far he can push you....it's totally pathetic.

not my problem anymore thank goodness!!!

The little chap that lives in the bungalow joined on to us is a little horror.  He was born with a hammer in one hand and a drill in the other.  He used to bang and drill up to 11 at night.  That was until my mum asked him to stop.  He apologised and said that there would be no noise after 7.30.  That lasted for a couple of months.  I went round and asked him to stop and he was so abusive so I then told him that he would be hearing from our solicitor.  I didn't bother with the solicitor but I've not needed to as it's all quiet on the western front since.  He's even told me to get back in the house once and I told him that I'd no intention of doing any such thing.  He then told my mum where to go in no uncertain terms.  A young man who was walking past at the time told him that he was out of order.  He is a complete nightmare.  He only used to bang though when his wife was out.  Needless to say, I've cut out all the foul language he comes out with.

Since they built new houses (4) of them only one person has spoken to us in 5 years she is fantastic but has moved further up the road. No reason why the others have never spoken, we have said good morning etc a couple of times and called over the hedge about the weather etc if we know they are the other side but we think they are deaf mutes:(  I wish there was a good reason but sorry no juicy bits!
