Some time ago my wife bought a hardback edition of The Branson Brood. by Freda M Long. She paid quite a bit of money for it. Glancing through various books I came across one by the same author, this one A Requium for Richard. I looked at the price twice, and then thrice ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY QUID!!!!!!!!
Somebody taking the Pilsner or what!

You BET!! !
Ironically I've just come off the island - Sheppey. They have a Saturday boot sale every week. No Krugerrands amongst the 50p items, but you never know. Years ago a Ming vase sold for a king's ransome and that was holding open the back door of some run down small holding. Apparently the woman fainted twice: once when the bidding was two-thirds the way through, and a second time as she recovered when she was told the final price! She was some penniless peasant farmer! Lovely - warms the cockles of your heart when you come across a story like that.
