.... due to lack of traffic. And I think the first sign is making it more difficult for newbies to find the "Community" pages.
What do you think?

It's a shame, it wasn't that long ago that if you posted a thread and went away for a few hours, it would
be gone, off the bottom. That's how busy it was on here, and fun too - loads of fun stuff and ever present
lovely people who would do anything for anyone. Now threads stay at the top for weeks - yes, we've sadly
lost some lovely people, but no more are arriving - probably 'cos it's almost impossible to find the boards
and also 'cos posters are treated as if they are at junior school, not as the adults that we are.
I hope the boards stay but it is ridiculously slow here now and people are just going to F/book instead.

maybe the boards wer created when ebay wanted everyone to be in a community,
sadly they dont seem to want that as part of their business model these days
changing the boards and their moderation hasnt helped
and the other media outlets have grown up and you can have a group thats not open to the world reading
SC has lost many people that knew the ebay systemss and really helped posters have a safer ebaying life
ebay lost a lot of 'little ' people when they killed off the 99p listings, and another lot with the befuddling dsr system
it used to be that i logged in while having my first coffee of the day, these days i go to twitter , then fb and if im in the mood i'll post here

I do look around, once in a while, but hardly ever post these days.....

I had such a turn earlier. No FHG and the whole Community was different! I'd gone on Ebay.com by mistake.

Well, I reckon I'm done too, for reasons I cannot menton.
I have an invitation to go elsewhere and shall be organising myself to join.
I shall pop in from time to time.
This Board shall die, not a doubt, not enough traffic, great post Fishy.
Enough is enough. I am a fully grown woman of 58 living in 2015 where certain words are used daily in every walk of life and not considered offensive. Stupidity. I miss James.

Aww don't go Carol... they wont let me go anywhere else... I'm not really meant to be here!

I'm not appealing, in any way, iykwim

Or even Daniel O'Donnell - bleurgh.
Btw Mr Neil - Cruden Bay - when were you there, I was in Aberdeen for night on 20 years man and boy.
My son loved the story of Dracula and I read it aloud to him (moderated of course). I have a terrific photo of him, only 5 or 6 years old at Halloween dressed up as such. I made a great cloak, if I say so myself - even with that dreadful sticky stuff in between the fabric to make the collar stand up.
We used to go for drives up and down the East Coast (Dad offshore) and we too picknicked at Slains. Wonderful stuff for a wee boy, who at that time wanted to be a cartoonist and bought Dracula magazines galore. Still have them and a whole load of Marvels dating back oh 20 years or more.

We moved up in 1975. I will always remember that because it was the year I went to univesity. My Mum and Dad had always joked that when I left home they would run away and not tell me where they had gone. And they did! Well almost... they sent me a letter ( oh the days before email and mobiles!) with their new phone number so I could tell them when I was coming home at Christmas. It arrived a couple of days before the end of term so I started ringing.... and ringing... and ringing. Morning noon and night I rang. No reply. Can even remember the number...Cruden Bay 246! Desparately trying to remember the name of the company my Dad was working for, it finally came to me... Asco in Peterhead. So the day before I was getting on the train to Aberdeen from Nottingham I rang him at work which suprised him a bit! Apparently the number had been taken by the people who had sold him the house for the bungalow they built next door. So all ended well and we had our first Christmas in Scotland.
Think we left about 10 years later when my Dad got a job in Malaysia.
We loved it there, A wonderful old house with an uninterupted view across the golf course and sand dunes to the sea.

Well said Fishy. I couldn't agree more.

You beat me by a few years.
I was classed as an essential incoming worker - ooooooooooooooh. Cos I knew the legislation for crane hire inside out - noobody else could be bothered so my boss Michael, the Personnel Manager and I got it (Human Resources). Almost daily bulletins from Aberdeen, which I had to read, digest and file. We had places in Aberdeen, Peterhead and Ardersier. Loved it, best time of my life. I was so lucky and when I moved into an oil industry, my salary doubled!!! I was earning more than my father, a time served bricklayer, min 60 hour week. True. Boy, I had a ball and was very, very, naughty. Boy, am I glad now You have mail, pse check.
Carol x.
