I've tried "reply" to an existing message, and I've tried from scratch with "send a private message to this person" but in all cases I get a pink message with "an error has occurred". Well, these errors are all I get. Anyone else similarly afflicted?

I don't think so, Stroppy. Just a quick note to RainyDayWoman to let her know I'm thinking of her. However at this rate she'll think I don't care! I've tried a variety of messages, and each one gets the error message. Very frustrating when you can't tell someone why you haven't been in touch!

It is probably my computer, which is little better than a coal-fired abacus with a typewriter attached. Thanks all, particularly to Stroppy who has helped enormously
