I go on a quilting holiday in Devon at the end of January. That is usually the only holiday I have. Who needs to go away when you live in such a lovely place as I do.

No foreign holidays for us this year again, we don't have a lot of spare money for long holidays ,we live in Devon and it's a lovely place, so we either go off for day trips/long weekends to Cornwall or Somerset or occasionaly we will visit friends in Warwickshire or family in Wales, so we don't really need to go abroad. When I was young and unmarried I used to go abroad all the time 3 or 4 times a year, so it doesn't bother me now and hubby is not interested.

We've not had a holiday for over 2 years due to one thing and another. We haven't got anything booked for next year either. We'll just go off for the odd day out every now and again.

Son went off on holiday to Egypt yesterday. There wasn't a lot to choose from at short notice!! Not my cup of tea thank you!

Don't think that I'd fancy Egypt either CG.

They've gone to Sharm Gina. He's been and 'done' the pyramids when he was younger but it's a shame the children with him won't be able to see them.

Rose.............the only post I had yesterday was FOUR holiday brochures and ONE today.
The only place I can afford to go next year is down to WSM to visit relatives - but I suppose anything away from the usual four walls is better than nothing.

Hi ya Tintin where you been, Going abroad is not the b all and end all there are plenty of lovely places in this country, just think of sitting in an airport for 12 hours, because of weather, strikes etc, deep joy or sailing on a ferry in a force 9 yuk.
Weston is lovely, and handy when you have relatives that live in a nice place, cheap too.
We have relatives in Oxford, Wales, Somerset and Warwickshire so we have a varied choice of where to stay, the only downside is when they come to stay with us, very tiring, they all want to be on the go all the time, visiting all the lovely places around us, if we have three return visits in a year it means we go to the same place 3 times. Never mind it is a good cheap way of holidaying.

They've never been off sale have they? Seen a few all year round for the past few years. Don't buy them myself though - can't stand them...

The last time I went on holiday was 27 years ago. Not been anywhere except two 6 day stays in hospital since. Not even a weekend or even one night away from home. I like home best.

I tend to agree CG. As much as I can relax whilst on holiday, I feel more relaxed at home.
