Has anyone put their Central Heating on yet?. My place is quite cold anyway but i feel as if im a bit forward putting it on. i have had to put a cardi on while sitting here and i have got my upper window open a fraction as i do in my bedroom until its really freezing!!. im in a flat not a house. My nose and my hands feel cold LOl right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Maybe its me i always feel the cold but am guilty of not putting on enough clothing really and running around in a silk dressing gown in winter just as the heating is on. i have it really quite hot in winter!!!!.
Anyone else like this?. Are you cold mortals yet?.

Definitely cooler but my heating only goes on when my teeth start to chatter! lol I have a big house & it's expensive to heat so I rely on jumpers & quilts until winter really sets in. I am lucky down here on the south coast as it's milder.

God no not yet, have to have lost all feeling in my fingers for me to put heating on. Just been and put some socks on and slippers as feet were cold,
We had new double glazing fitted last year and boy can you tell the difference, no drafts! also heating bill reduced by 30% even with a cold winter.
Mind you it would be lovely to be all warm and cozy again.
We usually try to hang on untill October 1st, don't ask why its a hubby thing, (tight)

Ooh no, not yet. We don't put our heating on until end October usually,
though I did put my coat on for the first time in ages on Friday.

Yes we have had it on for the past few days, I have poor circulation so feel the cold a lot.

Just moved from polo shirts to long-sleeve when going out, a nice log fire and a pair of socks sufficient indoors until the lake freezes over
We're tough in't north...

Coooooor that sounds nice a log fire and a lake, JEALOUS!!!!!!! LOL. We used to have a log fire in our little cottage when i was young. Only in one room and it was freezing in every other part of the house in those days. LOL. I used to get dressed in bed ha ha ha , or my mum used to have to put my clothes on the clothes horse in front of the fire and i used to dress down in that warm room!!!!. Blimey we have luxury now with Central Heating. it used to get so COLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Not had the heating on yet, had the gas fire on the other night for about 15 minutes; I've started with my white fingers already cos of the Raynaud's; a penpal takes Gingko Biloba for hers, so Ive bought some to try.
Winters as a child - Jack Frost on the INSIDE of the windows, I loved to try to scratch it off.

Remember that well carol, used to get shouted at by my mum for scratching out HELP on the inside of the window, she was mortified, kids eh, no central heating in those days we had an Aga in the kitchen so we all used to sit in there in the winter watching the tv, and it was horrible when we had to go to bed, had hot water bottles though with wooley covers.

I got my cleaner to put my 9 tog quilt on the other day when she did the bedding but hubby still wants his 4 tog. The en-suit under floor heating comes on as soon as it drops to a certain temperature, and that's on these days and the Aga is on in the kitchen 24/7 which is where I spend all my time.

We've had the heat on a few times for the last ten days or so. My mum is 81 with a serious heart condition and she really feels the cold. I've still got the summer duvet on my bed but I think that it will be changed in the next week or so.

I never put my Aga off. Perhaps a couple of days two or three times a year so I can give it a good clean, that's all.

Ours has four ovens. We fill the tank a couple of times a year (5,000 lt tank) but that does underfloor heating and hot water too. I miss it too much when it's off.

Our heating is switched on 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. However, the thermostat is very good, and is set to 16 degrees, so it rarely comes on over the summer months.
Because of my hip problems, I have to keep warm, if I get too cold my calcium and magnesium levels fall like a stone, and I end up with massive muscle spasms. Also with poor circulation and a damaged sciatic nerve it is difficult to keep my leg and foot warm.
I only ever have a 4 tog duvet on the bed, anything else is too heavy and hurts my feet. I do put a fleece blanket on top in colder weather, I have several off them in varying thicknesses.

It hasn't been that cold that the heating is really needed but it is so-o-o damp feeling that we have had it on several evenings just to banish it. Hate feelind chilly and clammy. Helps get the damp out the washing as well.
Infact put it on this morning just long enough to warm the rads!

Lovely day here today. I was quite warm last night & threw off the quilt.
