I had 2 rings which became very tight, and last night on the advice of NHS Direct, I went to A&E, where they were both cut off, (rings, not fingers)
Today, it feels as though the rings are still there, and I have a groove where they were.
Not surprising after wearing them for 10 years
Anyone else had a similar experience

I realised I couldn't get a ring off, about 6 months ago. It didn't hurt but I thought it best to get it off before it became urgent. Hubby cut it off for me with some snippers. I still have the mark of it on my finger.:-D

I had tight wedding and engagement rings cut off at a jeweller's a few years ago. The marks faded away, and the rings have been replaced with new ones. (same OH, though!)

I haven't had it done, but have done it a fair few times in A&E

I had to have my wedding and engagement rings cut off when I was pregnant with Toxic....
OH bought me replacement ones but they never felt quite the same, lovely though they are 😞
Last Christmas I got the jeweller to repair my rings with gold from OH's very battered wedding ring (he never took it off from the day we were married) so now I wear both our rings, the ones we were married with...
Silly I know but it feels right again 🙂

I once cut somebody's wedding ring off for them.
She was very trusting, it was too tight to cut from the inside out so I had to cut towards her finger. 🙂
I did join it back together afterwards.

Thats not silly Twishy ........ thats really lovely :-x
I had to stop wearing my wedding ring while pregnant with my youngest & OH decided to suprise me go & get it enlarged (stupid really as my finger would have shrunk back & he had no idea of the size I would need anyway :|) anyway later that night he tearfully confessed & then said he had lost it on the way :_|
He bought me another but like you say it doesn't have the same meaning anymore even after all these years 😞
I recently took said ring along with my engagement ring & eternity ring into a jewellers to get them enlarged (for the second time - no fat finger comments please :|) I took them off about 6mths ago after using half a bottle of washing up liquid to help the process :8}
I was gutted to find he was unable to add more gold to my eternity ring as it had worn so thin rubbing against the others 😞

I didn't wear mine for about 6mths Merc, maybe even a little longer, yes they were too tight but I wasn't bothered about not wearing them at all ..... OH used to keep on at me to sort them out but I was in no rush :^O
they still feel strange now tbh & I keep taking them off (something I never used to do) but I did like my eternity ring 😞

I stopped wearing my wedding ring when I lost my hubby. Mainly because I was so angry. I wear it now though.

There is a well known zoo about 40 miles away and the owner was a well renowned national figure . Internationally known for her breeding programme and animal welfare..........
So when I was on a school bus trip with my young daughter whose finger was turning blue with a tight ring I had no hesitation in knocking on said owners house door and asking for help and the loan of some tools . The following ensued
Who will take responsibility ? she asked
I will.
Take her to the hospital .
But I have no car, I am on a school trip.
and this caring woman then ...............................shut the door in my face !!!!
Luckily around the corner I found a workman, he slipped a screwdriver under the inside of the ring and cut it off for us.
She still has her finger, thanks to a lovely chap.

I was widowed 10 years ago and rings were on one finger, my wedding ring and hubby`s.
I am not too concerned about not being able to wear them, the important thing to me is that I have them in my possession.
They are now in a little box on my dressing table.
That is just my choice, and I respect anyone whose choice is different to mine.

I had my wedding ring cut so it it would come as my fingers swelled very badly. I still wear the ring and where they cut it I wear it under the finger.
