There won't be any lifeguards ed, only my daughter, she said she'll throw me a rubber ring if I look as though I'm drowning. She's good like that.
The last time I dived in was 1976. My bikini top came undone!!

Ooh swimming, I love it! Almost went in sea today but ran out of time (I was working).
I came into your neck of the woods today CG.

Oh! where were you fishie?
I won't be in the sea, I'll be in here, all by myself with the blinds down!!!

That looks nice CG, how lovely to have that nice pool to go in
all by yourself.
I was driving a Suffolk coastal tour, CG. We started at Wyevale's at Woodbridge
where we had coffee and picked up tour guide lady. Went through Woodbridge,
onto Orford, Aldeburgh, lunch at the cafe at Dunwich, then onto Southwold via
Thorpeness and Blytheburgh. Then home to Essex. It was a fabulous day,
lovely people, lovely tour guide - sometimes I forget it's actually my job!

You were close fishie, if you'd sounded your horn I would have heard you.! Wyvale have some lovely things at Christmas, you ought to do a trip there then! (bit pricey though!)

CG how was the swim?

Ooh! yes, I enjoyed it actually! My daughter came in after five minutes to see if I was ok and then after another five minutes, but I think she could see I was ok. For about the first two minutes I was a little scared because it gets very deep very quickly but once I got my confidence I was fine. It didn't help, the surgeon saying I must never do breast stroke again (not legs anyway) but I just did it very gently, I just don't move doing them up and down! I did 26 lengths. It's only 30ft long but I was pleased with that. She's going to give me a key and I can go any time whether she's in or out. The cover comes off at the touch of a button so I'll be able to do it, and there's a big CCTV screen showing the front drive and a loud bell if any body drives in.

.Well done you, you will be turning into a mermaid soon then
12-09-2013 7:32 PM
Well done CG. I'm impressed by the amount of swimming you did but not the picture.
ed, I go swimming everyday. I've been a member of the same health club for 10 years now. I love it.
12-09-2013 7:35 PM
Maybe I should learn after all you are never too old.
12-09-2013 9:39 PM
Well done CG, that's not bad for someone who hasn't swum for ages!
Keep it up, it's very good for you apart from that it always makes me feel
so, well, kind of sparkly/tingly and good inside and out, especially when
I've swum outside.
12-09-2013 10:56 PM
I've never been keen on swimming outside, it's a bit dirty, salty, fishy and cold. I think I've only swum in the sea a handful of times in my life.
I hate getting out, dried and dressed. It's such a struggle 'cos you're all damp and your clothes stick to you.
I expect I'll go again though. She's had that pool since May 2012 and this was the first time I'd swum in it.

I know what you mean about changing CG, I swim near a rocky bit if I can so
I can stand on the rocks and change to avoid everything getting covered in
sand. It's not usually as dirty as it may look, often that's just the sand etc getting
churned up by the waves, I don't swim if it looks dirty.
As to being fishy, well I'm happy if they are! In Devon & Cornwall, when the
water is clear and calm, you can see little shoals of fish which I think is
quite magical, being able to swim with them. What about seals then?!
When I swam off Lundy this summer there was a seal watching
curiously, no intention of harming anyone, he was just nearby, being
nosey. It looked as if he was thinking, "What are those things doing in
the sea, they belong up there on land!"
There was one at Brixham too, he was there swimming and playing with the
people all the time they were in the sea then, as soon as everyone had got
out, he went home, as if to say, "no more fun to be had here today!"
Enjoy your swims CG!
