The stitches were all removed today and I was allowed out of bed.

Getting there slowly.

The possibility of discharge on Friday has been mentioned. Will require confirmation by the consultant, but looking good.

Have managed to persuade them to remove the catheter, so can now gat from bed to chair and go to the loo independently.

Definitely getting there.

Update - discharge dealyed until Tues or Wed next week as they want me to have some very heavy duty anti-biotics.

It's not so bad now that I can get in and out of bed myself - had a shower this morning with no assistance at all.
