My thoughts this morning are definitely with those people who have been killed and or injured in Glasgow last night.
At the time of writing details are quite sketchy as to the number of injuries/fatalities.
I hope that the death toll is not too many - and just before Christmas as well.

We can only hope tintin.
The pub involved is not an in place so would not have been packed out with young gentlemen and ladies on a fun night out. It is more a drinkers pub if you know what I mean.
Sadly there are injuries and no doubt some serious and although nothing has been released yet I can sadly see there being fatalities.

Sadly three fatalities so far. Only a few more feet to the side and the helicopter would have landed in the river !

My husband works offshore and a little bit of me dies every time I hear about helicopter crashes. He was on a helicopter heading for Sumburgh when the last one went down with all the fatalities.
My heart goes out to the families.

It is harsh PCC. I was on the supply ships and went out in all weathers.
At least now all I have to contend with to make deliveries is snow and ice on the roads.

Indeed it is petite. They're very safety aware but accidents do happen.

Just to add though that he now works on a ship, a diving support vessel, not a rig.

VERY SAD AT ANY TIME BUT ESPECIALLY THIS TIME OF YEAR. ITS AWFUL WHEN THINGS HAPPEN AT CHRISTMAS WHEN ITS BIG FAMILY TIME!!!!!!!!!!!.

One thing that I think is good is that a taxi firm in Glasgow has said that anyone with family injured in this incident who are in hospital, the taxi firm will take family to hospital free of charge. It restores your faith in human nature.
I agree with you Rose. It's bad enough when anything like this happens at any time of the year but when it's so near Christmas, it always seems worse.

its Glasgow Taxis that have said that, i did go on twitter to say thank you to them, plenty of people have offered help and support, especially those who ran TO help rather than run away when it happened
that poor guy who stood outside all night waiting to hear about his dad, he was still standing there this afternoon, when they brought him out
all of the St Andrews day celebrations were cancelled
as always i am warmed by the support Glasgow shows in time of need

its a popular music venue
it would be standing room only on a friday night
the emergency services heli pad is just down the river
the heli would have passed over there thousands of times
there is a 1000 space car park at the back of the pub
and glasgow green just further on
i would have assumed he would be trained how to ditch into water as well, the clyde is very wide there
he must have had no control of the bird at all
