I think it's a very good 'royal' name but confess to being a wee bit disappointed that Philip wasn't included.

I said on another thread that one of the Prince's names would be George but I am disappointed as well that Philip hasn't been chosen.

But isn`t Alexander a bit pointless?

NO NO NO NO NO - Alexander is not at all pointless. It is a good old scottish name and there have been Scottish kings called Alexander and as one day Scotland will be one of the countries that Prince George (or King George) will rule over - there is EVERY point to include that name.............also Alexander is a name that is in the Middleton family and as Kate Middleton is the mother then there is every right for a name from her side to be included....

It's a good Royal name, but I just don't like the name George. I wonder if he'll have a nick-name like Henry has?

I always think of George as being an old man`s name, and doesn`t really suit a baby

I couldn't agree more. My dad's name is George and he was 84 last week.

I also think of George as too old fashioned. i wanted it to be James awwww. I do love Alexander though its very regal and modern i think.
