Foodie thread for WEDNESDAY

For us it is roast chicken, yorkshire pudding, roasty pots, and about five veg. My son wasn't here at the weekend so this is his late Sunday roast.

Re: Foodie thread for WEDNESDAY

Just popped into the Co-op after having my hair cut & there was so much stuff reduced & stocked up. Most of it is freezable stuff. Garlic bagettes 2 for 25p, large pork pie 50p, Steak pie 50p & more I can't remember. Having the pork pie & salad for tea as that won't freeze.

Re: Foodie thread for WEDNESDAY

wow! that's what you call bargains. They don't reduce that much here at our T*sco...I got 59p off a 1.79 stirfry yesterday....woopie.

We had stir fry today with chicken strips, it was lovely, I'm beginning to like that better than a traditional meal.

I've a bit of egg mayo that needs using up, we'll have that on toast tonight.

Re: Foodie thread for WEDNESDAY

Tesco reductions aren't worth bothering with.  Might as well pay a few pence more for a fresher one. The Co-op are great & have a good turn around of fresh food.

I freeze pork pie.  Woman Surprised

The only things I can think of at the moment that I don't freeze are raw eggs and lettuce.  I expect there are others.  Woman Happy

We are having beef stew for me and chicken stew for him.  It's all home made with fresh veg......but I did freeze it in portions!  Woman LOL

Re: Foodie thread for WEDNESDAY

Nothing for me tonight as I am off out to skittles, so will probably have bar food later, other two having left over stew from last night.

I got a bargain at work today a huge bar of caramel chocolate for £1 as it was going out of date mmm yummy don't panic I haven't eaten it all.

I have frozen pork pie but the jelly went funny, I will try anything once if it works I will do it again if it doesn't then lesson learnt, I freeze leftover peppers, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes they are great for in stews and casseroles.

Re: Foodie thread for WEDNESDAY

I did bacon cooked in the microwave and we had it on toast.  We've no gas all day as they are replacing the gas main so we couldn't cook anything properly.
