My lab had to have an enema when chewed up raw beef marrowbone compacted and blocked her bowel. If the enema hadn't worked she would have had an operation. She and subsequent dogs have never had bones again.:O

I'd personally say not ever, never any splintery bones, chicken or chop bones of any kind. Big beef marrow bones are okay (pref raw), they don't splinter so much, and are good tooth exercise. Still only as a treat, though
My Mum used to work as a Vet's nurse, many years ago, and a dog was brought in with a "compacted bowel" due to eating pork chop bones.
Mum was told to stand well back, as the vet duly uncompacted the dog's nether regions.
Mum stood well back, however, still was completely splattered and sprayed from head to toe in compacted matter, as the poor dog's rear end exploded all over her. She was literally standing there, dripping in doggy excrement. :^O
Poor dog though - he must have been so uncomfortable.
So some bones are okay, others are most definitely not, and any bones only in moderation.

Are you sure that wasn't my Jade, kiss my, that's what happened to her. As soon as she got back from the vets she had to have a bath. She stunk to high heaven and was soaking wet!!!:O:_|

Hahaha - I don't think we're related, CG 😄
Poor Jade - has she ever recovered? I guess if you love animals, this you come to expect!
Poor Mum too, it was in her eyes, up her nose, she was spitting it out - Yeuchhhhh. I was always amazed that she wasn't ill as a result - we all know what doggy poo can doo 😞
