None of mine are new, find the heat too much and the wet wouldn't go with my camera.

Don't complain if you have that much work on, and can offer work to those in need. If you have 4 years worth there is probably enough work sorting and editing.

I am not complaining (well it would be nice to have just one clear day)

There are some great places I want to go and re-visit but I am struggling to get away.

Haven't forgotten about the pics will try to start this weekend

It does say at the beginning that we can ask for help so.....please help. I can't find that anyone else has asked this......As at 88, how do you get a macro pic so clear ? I have just bought a Canon Powershot 850 and am disappointed at the shots I'm getting. The instruction book is no help as it doesn't even mention Macro photography and I just got bogged down on the Canon site.

Tips for good macro photos

http://digital-photography-school.com/blog/macro-photography-tips-for-compact-digital-camera-users/ safe link

Not read all the way through but tripod, timer or remote are good to use as they all reduce shake.

Also a good photoshop program can sort out a number of sins!!

These were taken with a Canon PowerShot S30 just quick shots to show the macro setting. You don't say how much experience you have, all I can say is practice.

With the S30 the shutter needs careful handling it is important to half press pause then fully press.

As you can see my own focussing is not very precise with this camera, and I think focus is the problem you are having. There are more experienced Canon users on this thread so stick around.

Sturos remembered to go for medium so no more shocks for Dawn!
