I'm afraid not CG. I'm having the same problem myself but only one of my dogs is affected at the moment. Probably because she likes sleeping in the hall and can hear some outside whilst the other one sleeps on an armchair in the lounge. I've got the telly turned up load and the extractor fan on in the kitchen which masks it somewhat. I hate this time of year. Hope Lottie doesn't get too traumatised.

Thanks roofie.  They've stopped for the moment but she's still hiding in the utility.  You can tell it's bad, her eight o'clock Bonio is still uneaten!!

Awww bless her. They do get stressed don't they? Has she somewhere she can hide? If she's comfortable under/behind something just let her get on with it. There's no calming them I'm afraid.

We used to have a dog that used to hide under one of the beds when fireworks were going off.  He was the same when it thundered.  I feel heartily sorry for any animal that's frightened under these circumstances.  They can't understand poor things.  Fireworks should only be allowed on November 5th and at organised events.

I had a dog like that too. Under the bed was the best place for him. Unfortunately we only have divans here! The one frightened by the fireworks tonight is also terrified of thunder bless her. I think the fireworks here was an organised event because they weren't right outside, slightly in the distance, and there were a lot of them. But yes, just the one night would be best.

Aww I feel so sorry for all the dogs that get worried about fireworks.  We used to have a bearded collie and the vet used to have to give us sedatives for him at this time of the year.  He used to get in such a state it brought on fits and the vet felt that sedatives were in the longer run the kindest thing for him.  I used to feel guilty about giving him sedatives, but even with them he was still nervous.

I remember one year there was a "mock" battle going on at the local country fair (which was fairly close to our home) and our beardie cleared an 8' wall to escape and get as far away from the bangs that he could.  We never thought it was possible for him to get over an 8' wall but sheer panic made him succeed.  When we caught up with him he had injured his leg.

I used to dread thunderstorms and fireworks because I know how upsetting it was for him - hope you dog is going to be OK xx

Sorry we just do the same as you, telly on loud, we have 2 dogs one is petrified, and the other (working dog stock)  thinks its playtime

we make a cave under the table that the  older one can go too, cushions, bed etc and drape a few coats on the backs of the chairs so he can hide and feel secure.

The main problem is that it goes on for so long.  Quite agree should be just one night and just organised events, some of the ones being let off last night sounded like bombs and made the house shake.

Poor Lottie. My cats are the same, so are the bunnies. I leave radios on and the tv to try and drown the noise. I know there's a big organised event tonight then it'll be bang-bang-bang until the early hours on the 5th

Its not only the animals that  get stressed by fireworks , my friends 2yrs old grandson is terrified of them too , to be honest i dont like them either never have 😞

Going to feed my two earlier tonight as there is a big bonfire due to be lit at 7p.m. not too far from here, so they will be terrified. Might retire to the bedroom and put TV on - not sure which will scare them the most - fireworks or X Factor, LOL Got another big fireworks display nearby on Tuesday, so same again.

one of my neighbours used to use  rescue remedy in the dogs water for  a few days  before hand, another had some sort of  tranquilizer from  her  vet

we always had a talk radio station on louder than normal and the tv louder, and tried not to react ourselves

some dogs arent bothered at all, others are  wrecks  for days  😐

Damson will be a wreck for hours. We have tonights display, random ones through the week & then a huge one on the 16th for some reason. I have tried all the remedies. Having the radio or tv loud makes no difference as the bangs are on a frequency that she can hear even if I cant!

We always have the TV on, two in fact as he has his and I have mine in the kitchen.  We had a dog once who used to hate it so much I got her some sedatives from the vet.  They made her worse because she was still aware of the noise but was very unsteady on her feet, so she was even more scared knowing she couldn't run away if necessary!  I totally ignore Lottie's behaviour and she usually ends up in our shower.

POOR LOTTIE its funny my cat is not bothered only if they get frantically loud like at the finale of a show or something LOL. Sorry , its not nice for animals. perhaps some music or something to distract, something relaxing.

Hope its not too traumatic tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!.
