Never & Never

For the last couple of years I have resolved to make more time for myself & learn to say no! This year I am saying the same but might actually manage this time. I am running fewer workshops & won't be organising the quilting retreat or the quilt show in 2014. I will make time to read more books too. I will still cary on making for Days for Girls.

I have said yes to people before when i have not really made any!!!!!.
SO NO AND NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

I have made them on and off over the years, sometimes I've kept them, sometimes not.
These days I tend to think about what I'd like to do and not make the goals too unrealistic. I know for instance that health wise I really do need to stop smoking - that's a NYR I've made several times before and sometimes achieved it for a few months then gone back to it - this time I'm really on borrowed time so I need to do it but not necessarily on Jan 1st but sometime during this coming year.

I have in the past made a NYR and not stuck to it so I don't normally bother, this year I too need to do something to stop smoking and loose a little weight, however I feel that if I shout about it with a NYR then I will put pressure on myself and not keep to it, so I shall take my time and begin when I am ready. Being a long term smoker I know I shall find it hard so I need to look for distractions to keep me occupied, and not let work stress me out.

Yes. I do make them; if they're about being tidy and organised I can't honestly say they are kept! This year's was to learn to make sauce other than from a packet, and I have. Next year it will be about being tidy and organised ....

I try sometimes but not every year. Must admit that I always try to stop swearing but as I am getting the silent treatment from my mother at the moment, that is an impossibility at the best of times. I find I have to drop everything if she wants something doing and it has to be done like yesterday. Aaaaaaaaagghh. Also, must admit that I need to lose weight as well. Ah well. Never mind. Sorry for going on a bit but I am rather fed up at the moment.

I always make them and I always keep them. There was the stop smoking one, so now I don't smoke, and the diet one and now I'm really slender, and the exercise one, and now I'm as fit as a butchers dog. There was the stop drinking one so now I'm tee total, I think next year it will be the giving up lying one!!!

For those of you looking at giving up smoking, I can highly recommend electronic cigs. They're amazing.

I have kicked the Biggies ,Smoking and Drinking, both of which i did for a time to BIG excess. They said well done at the docs and that i had done the best things possible so thats enough for me for now. Anyone else whose resolution is to quit either,, best of luck to you, YOU CAN DO IT. There are plenty of other enjoyable things in life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
It was a waste of my time and money propping up a bar with a fag in my hand!!!!.

No I don't usually as I never follow through....... but this year I have one and I hope I will follow through and that is to write down names and addresses in my address book instead of on little slips of paper that I then tend to loose or misplace.
