Deno's Diary Part 3, A new Chapter

Deno (proper name De Novo) was adopted by FHG posters in 2005 when one of them, Shebalator, rescued him from slaughter.

Then - 700lbs underweight with a broken jaw and multiple other ills.




2008 - still struggling with sarcoids but finally fit enough to have a light rider up for the first time so he could
join his mates on a jaunt round the local lanes



2009 - due to sheb’s declining health, a new home was sought for Deno.
A very brave ebayer named upthecreekyetagain ( very apt name I think you will agree) agreed to take him on.
So, now Deno lives in Surrey with the Creeky family, plus 3 lovely mares. He has 5 acres of grass and orchards to roam in and is very happy.



His sarcoids still remain a problem, but a new vet is investigating them further to decide on the best course of palliative care.

Deno is reliant on fundraising and donations for his food, medicines and all the things that make his world that bit nicer.

This replaces his previous diary thread that had become too cumbersome to load.
And to mark the start of the next chapter of his life.

Zoe is off home today, think she has totally enjoyed her little stint of Horse & Dog sitting 🙂  Hopefully she will be continuing her work with Lunar soon, and showing her how to behave like a Young Lady :^O

evening all, a busy day today, spend a few hours in a field in the sun with friends osses and ponies, GG and a mate got to groom the lovely 5 yr old welsh, GG got a ride too, she has no fear, the other girl freaked out when the pony spooked.

we poo picked, sponged, I taught the girls how to do leadropes before you hang them, I also realised I am not 20 odd anymore and a 12.3 pony could easily drag me round the paddock if I let him.

I got bitten, I got my foot stomped on, I got barged into the stinging nettles but I loved it all 🙂

A worthy bump for the osses.

Also a proud Mummy post missy G did the talent show with 2 mates, they are all 8yrs old, did their own routine, did all the practise at school playtimes.

They are not drama school trained so it took bravery to stand in front of a few hundred strangers.

those who have me on facebook please look, I have shared the youtube link. Self esteem was low as they were last, there was tears and we were rubbish , please like the video if you can.

On a good note, she changed ponies today, had a bigger and faster one, instructor say they were good together, she is a speed demon

hi all,

life down here in the wild west has taken a sad turn of events, which is why i haven't been in here for far too long,

firstly, after the fab result at barbury, and wenna and the fat little white horse doing so well we aimed our sights on a special finals event, they completed all the qualifiers, and thier place was booked,

then little white horse rolled on something in the field and injured her back. sadly, despite lots of care and attention, we had to cancel entries to the ride, much dissapointment in the goth house, but pony is recovering slowly and will live to gallop another day.

not so much my mum, who sadly had another stroke this week, i got the call at 8am wednesday, whizzed to the nursing home, sadly this one was a biggy, spoke to the nurses and the matron, and we had decided on paliative care, spent the rest of the day contacting the family,

we spent thursday saying our good byes, giving her permission to leave us, teling her we love her.

friday morning she rallies a little, and has now been admitted to hozzie, things are still not looking good, so we are waiting on consults with the doc and the speech guys.

but i think we will prolly bring her home and let her slip away peacefully, but it truely has been the toughest week of my life,

i am mum's poa, and i get to give the final sayso, not something i really want to do, but mum chose me to do it, so i must do what is best for mum.

anyway, glad to hear miss lunar is being henducated, and hope deno isn't giving her hints and tips!

hope mr and mrs creeky are well and that mrs c has had her op by now.

will try and stay in touch if i can, but its a bit tough at the mo,

I sort of fell out the exit door,  but Borzoi very kindly told me of Gothic's thread.  I couldn't even remember my password last night!

Miss Lunar is quite the young lady now - shouldn't be a shock but it is.

Belated Samhain Blessings to all who celebrate, and I hope everyone had a fun and peaceful night :-x

It would be painful to Gothic if this thread slid away while she was having such a difficult time in RL, so I'll try to come back and take my share in bumping it for her.

MDCC was a last second affair when I realised my connection was good enough to list let alone post, so I'll try to be ready and have a better one for the last one of the year and do something for the great lummox.  Fingers crossed.
