Dementia

Hi,

Can anyone involved with caring for someone with dementia help please?

My FIL loses track of what day it is, so we are looking for a battery operated calendar without too much information on it (not temperature etc) Just need day, date and month. Not too big, but nice and clear.

Have done a lot of searching and found some perfect ones, but the prices are just ridiculous - especially those recommended by Dementia care or Alzheimers Society.

Looking at anything from £80 - £200.

Off out now as it is OH's birthday, but will check back later. All help appreciated.

Re: Dementia

Sorry Duck, just got back from FILs so missed it.

Looks good if I can find one at a reasonable price.

Can't believe nobody makes a perpetual flip calendar.

It went for £51 - £42 + £9 postage.  Seven bidders.  BUT - it didn't sell the first time - so worth keeping a lookout.

Hi

I saw this on the big river, don't know if it's any help it costs £71.40 ouch!

Can't put a link but just search:

Desktop 'Perpetual Calendar' Clock - G236

I tried to post a pic, but it's tiny. This shows day/date/month and has a clock face, but not complicated at all, but is battery operated.41OGbV-QzGL._SS40_.jpg

Re: Dementia

Hi Learning

I've found another one on the big river. (as I'd search earlier, this appeared somewhere above or beside  when browsing).

Search for

Premier Housewares 9 x 19 x 6 cm Oblong Flip Alarm Clock, White

and it's only £8.29! It only shows day/date and a clock. Hope this one will help.

Re: Dementia

Sorry, just noticed in the reviews that the date and day has to be advanced manually.

Re: Dementia

Just wanted to update for everyone who was kind enough to help in my search.

Eventually found this in Maplins and it works a treat!
