Maybe it was mant to be... The Tsunami appeal has got TOO much money now (would you believe!) thanks to lovely people like you:-x
A close friend of mine lost some family & friends in it & I know her family are so grateful for anything anyone has done (especially as a lot of her family still live there & are depending on long term help) Maybe you should leave it a few months & then try to organise another one for a different cause. I know it sounds awful but you might find that people weren't that interested cos they already donated & it was just after Xmas etc.
There arre loads of good causes who would be so grateful if you put all this effort in for them. Keep it up, don't get too disheartened & remember there is always a charity somewhere that needs your hard work!

That's what I've been thinking, Pinkliz - maybe postpone it until Summer sometime and it can still be for charity. If the appeal's still needing stuff, then so be it, if not there will always be another needy cause.

How awful for your friend, hope she and her family are OK.

I truly love the sea but cannot believe the devastation it caused to these people and places.

I still think its agood idea & it will work another time.
I also love the sea (& water in general) but its an amazing force which we will never truly understand. Do you ever get the feeling when a natural disaster occurs it is natures way of putting us in our place? Nature can be wonderful, terrifying, awesome, incredible & devastating. It is essential to our survival but has the power to take life away in an instant. No government, terrorist, dictator, country or individual will ever hold the power that nature does!

Have just re read that & am surprised I could be this deep on a monday afternoon!!!!!!!!!
