That way we can give a little more and can all have a jolly good giggle too. If anyone lives in Essex and wants to come, I'll keep you posted as to when, where etc.

Off to start putting plan into action (and finish cleaning my windows!).

Hi, thanks for that Bluewafflebuns. My pooter is having a doolally half hour (well it was like it last night as well) - I can't get to do anything without a lot of nonsense. Can't even get my e-mails.

I think this is going to be an indoor barn dance as I need to do it fairly soon for the appeal and it's a bit cold outside. So civilised version, preferably without the fire brigade (unless they want to come for the dancing!).

Fishy, is it just for FHGers, or do you want the word spread generallly? It's just that I'm not in Essex, but know some people there. If you want the general public, and have a web page with details on it, I can point them to it.

If you need somewhere to host the web page, I can do that. Not good with design, though, so you'll have to provide that!

Would love to come but don't think me tractor'd make it that far!

Good luck and good thinking! x

Excellent idea fishy!

I'm miles away from you, so I'm a no-goer.

Where are you, wotahoot, to have a yokel's accent? Have also bagged my cornish friend to come along and keep talking in his lovely accent to add authenticity to it! He says he'll be too busy having a good laugh to talk!

Thanks, people, not having a lot of joy contacting my dear barndancing friends but have got the school hall for virtually any saturday evening in the next three months!

It's for anyone, but the school hall's maximum is 120, so we should fill it with a bit of local advertising/arm twisting etc! I've got contacts at work, school, church and people that come on my coach trips, so that should provide enough. Will do leaflets and posters though to put up locally and my best friend will probably do those for me (I don't know where to start!).

More info when things start to progress a little quicker!

Hi Cousins Across the Big old Pond 🙂 Is this the kind hearted UK-ers place 🙂 I saw this and it tugged on my heart strings. What a wonderful little guy. He baked the cake with his Grandma. What a wonderful little heart. Apparently they didn't know which category to list in under

Since they are your way, please have a peek here.

Oh and shhhhhh to the big old muckety mucks on ebay.

Hi Warmfuzzies - I agree - a lovely thought from a lovely little person. Hope he gets lots of money for it - it's amazing how this has touched even very little childrens' hearts.

I'm getting really cross now - haven't heard a tinkle from the barn-dance people and I can do nothing until I have confirmation that they can do it. Reckon the one I need to speak to is on hols.

It's a pain in the bum as I was hoping to have it all booked up by now. I don't know any other barn dance callers/groups and once we've had them, we don't want anyone else cos they are brilliant.

Hope everybody doesn't forget about the appeal cos their plight will go on long after it's finished being in our newspapers etc.

Feel a bit of a nerd now, putting it on here and having nothing to report!!

Keep watching - your patience will be rewarded!

Ah Ha! I have a reply - he'd been on holiday.

Most likely dates are 19th February, 19th March or 2nd April with the most-most likely being 19th March. Have to confirm with the school for the hall.

Hopefully will know tonight. Watch this space...

Anyone near enough and fancy coming? You'll be more than welcome. Fantastic live group leading us.

Thought I would show you my first draft of the ticket, fishy. Let me know what you think.

They are designed to be printed 14 to a sheet (A4) in two columns. I have plenty of white card to print them on. As I said, I can number them - on the back - and you can use those numbers for a raffle if you have one.

Up-date time.

Stuart has very kindly printed me some flyers and the tickets. The flyers have just been plastered all over town and thrust into the hands of my unsuspecting friends! Hall booked, grub ordered (well, initially), band confirmed. All we need now is PEOPLE!

Anyone in my area (Upminster, Essex) up for it?

They're not, Stuart! However, notices now festoon the town and several shops, my work etc. Also, e-mailed it to loads of friends who used to be followers of the group, with ourselves. Hoping for a response by weekend.

Otherwise P A N I C !!

By the way, do you mind Stuart, if I colour copy one of those poster thingys into A5 size flyers to post through certain letterboxes/hand out on my coachtrips?
