DVD Watching

I am so annoyed that our local video shop has closed!!!. Call me old school but i enjoyed renting especially as some were a cheaper price now to view for a few nights. Someone showed me how to get something on computer to get films but it took so blooming long its not worth it. I like to watch on my television not on my computer!!!. does anyone know of a good way i can still rent films or are there any other shops who do renting out films around?. I can get them on my television package but they are quite expensive. How does everyone else view their favourite films when they come out?, apart from shelling out to buy the DVD ( which i only watch once really). ?.Woman FrustratedWoman Mad

Re: DVD Watching

I use Lovefilm...all the latest & the oldest DVD's, & you can pay what you can manage e.g. I get 2 films a month £4.75 - delivered through the post, & sent back through the post, & you can keep it for as long as you like.

Re: DVD Watching

I use lovefilm too, we have the package with the Instants and you can watch on up to 4 (I think) devices at once so son used to watch them on his PC when he was in Uni.

We used to use cinemaparadiso, they were quite good too.

Re: DVD Watching

Gosh yes, I hadn't really noticed until you mentioned it, but there aren't any video/dvd hire

shops round here any more either.  I guess people can download or whatever they do

now to watch them, but that's beyond me, I only just worked out how to use the dvd

player!

It's like taping stuff, not easy to do that anymore as it's all on i-player and catch-up etc.

That's fine if you've just missed something and would like to watch it, but if you want

to keep it, that's no good at all.  My hubby was on Countryfile a couple of weeks ago

and we'd loved to have taped it to keep.  Since we've had a new telly, we don't seem to

be able to do it, though we watch dvds through the playstation.

Re: DVD Watching

Yes i think on a v Box or something you can save things and watch like a recorder but i only have the sort of package where you have catch up or On Demand, most things are only on for the week to catch up with. im such a numpty now i had my telly for ages before i even realized i could do all this on it LOL. ohhh blimey theres no hope Woman Mad

Re: DVD Watching

We have netflix £6 a month, they have a decent selection you won't get the new films but you do get a lot of tv complete series as well as films .
