DIY query - Exterior masonry paint sealer?

Hello

I have just painted the stonework sections on my house, and although I'm very happy with the outcome, the finish is very chalky. I really could do with some kind of sealant to paint onto the painted stone sills, as already dark dust has settled on them, and wiping them clean, just rubs dirt into the paintwork.
I've Googled, and I'm not sure of the correct product to buy, as many sealants say they are not for exterior painted surfaces.

Can anyone suggest a product please? It needs to be clear / transparent.

Thank you.

You could try top coating with waterproof UPVA suitably diluted.

As always do a small test patch first.

Stonework is a pain and sucks moisture/oils out of paints useful hints can be found on youtube.

DIY query - Exterior masonry paint sealer?

Hi

I've finished the job now, but thanks.

I used Rust-oleum matt sealer. It did the job nicely and you can't tell it's there 🙂
