Went down to my local Lidl today to buy a chicken for Sunday lunch. Medium chicken to feed four cost £3.70 but saw a large chicken reduced to £3.50 - plenty large enough for Christmas dinner and a curry on Boxing day - now in the freezer. That's my Christmas dinner now sorted. Got to buy these bargains when you can.

We bought a turkey crown a few weeks ago and it's in the freezer. There'll only be my mum and I so a turkey crown is plenty big enough. The price of them has gone up since we bought ours.

We have a big Turkey I bought ages ago if everyone comes to ours, and a three bird roast if the weather turns nasty and no one comes. Buy it when you can its the best way.

There is Ber***d Mat****s turkey joint in the freezer - after all there is only 2 of us (well 3 if we have MIL), so that is plenty.

We used to go on holiday abroad at Christmas and new year and it was good fun. I don't think that I could put up with the hassle at the airports now. I'd much sooner have Christmas at home now. I might feel differently if I was on my own though.
