Prefer white so just to be a little healthier we have 50/50. Brown is ok as long as it's not toasted and it hasn't got 'bits' in that break your teeth and knock your fillings out!

Got to be proper bread for me - Mothers Pride white sliced

Even when I am buying it for fishing bait I still have trouble getting my hand to pick up a loaf of that grotty apology for bread from the supermarket in the form of white sliced.
Give me bread with everything in it.
Including the ground up field mice bones.

I loathe white sliced. Has to be wholemeal preferably with seeds in. Malted is ok too. I don't mind a white french stick but it has to be a proper one like you get in France.

At the moment it is white sliced - I buy whatever my local Co-op has marked down to half price (or less) and I never pay full price for a sliced loaf - sometimes white sometimes brown. It is then put into the freezer for emergency uses. I prefer the extra thick white for toast though so that the outside is toasted and the inside is still nice and soft and allows the butter to soak through it. I prefer brown bread for my salad sarnies though but love tiger bread with butter on to soak up my soup. I have tried making both brown and white bread and always find that my white bread is better than the brown - the brown seems to have a more dense texture - but that is perhaps because I am making it wrong!!! Teenager prefers white but will give him the 50-50 if I can get away with it.

Forgot to put my favourite, at number one is Tiger loaf, one inch thick with tomato soup, number 2 good old bloomer, but I normally buy whatever is on offer 2 for £2.00. As my 2 eat bread like its going out of fashion.
Make my own in the winter as it helps to warm the house and smells sooo good.

When I was younger it was white, white and white. OH insists on brown so compromised and discovered it was just HOVIS brown(which Mum always bought) I hated. Unfortunately my local shop only stocks hovis which is a pity as we are always running out and I buy white 'cos if I don't like we'll have the cheapest!.

Bread pudding made with proper granary bread with the addition of sunflower seeds, is out of this world.
And it can be frozen with no effect on texture or taste.

I prefer white but my mum can only eat brown so I eat brown at home and if I eat bread whilst I'm out, it's white.

I am going to be difficult.
I alternate between Rye and Flax Seed
The only time I eat white is if I have been sick.
White helps absorb excess stomach acid.

Proper bread from the bakers for me, none of that plasticy supermarket stuff.
I like white and granary but am not keen on brown as it tastes like cardboard.

What about rainbow bread? http://theartisticfarmer.blogspot.co.uk/2012/10/soft-rainbow-sandwich-bread.html?m=1 Fun for a special occasion if you use safe colours
Really decent wholegrain, for me, and not too much of it. Processed white bread gives my innards all kinds of trouble and sticks to the roof of my mouth - vile stuff.

Depends on how it is being used but prefer brown seeded for everyday sandwich eating.
